Perhaps one of the biggest problems with combat, especially for ranged characters, is that combat mode (for turn based) doesn't start as soon as hostiles are spotted (ala Baldur's Gate or Fallout), the game stays in real time until they are very close. Sometimes if I'm lucky I can frantically move the mouse over to the little shield and click to combat mode in time to get a round of shots off. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this?! Also, what I've noticed about combat that makes it feel rushed and buggy is the fact that there aren't any messages about what monsters or npcs are doing round by round as in Fallout or the BG games. I see little spell animations but I have no idea what they're doing, and there's no feedback for to hit or damage calculations. This game is great but the combat is painful!
Yes. Refer to the manual for the list of keyboard shorcuts. The only hot key not mentioned in the manual is E (skip turn), as it was added later in a patch. Set floats to verbose in options.
Thanks for the link. I thought I had already read through the list but I guess I missed 'R', is this it? (I can't check as I already fubar'd my install and and save game... debating to reinstall or not, maybe if I can figure out how to beef up firearms) cheers, kilolima
