Caladon Sewers Issue - Vincent not there

Yeah, so, like the topic says, I'm not seeing Vincent anywhere in the Old Sewers when I get there.

I've gone through everything in the quest. I inspected the first two crime scenes, used Conjure Spirit on the bodies, even. Got the name. Went to the chief, then to the third crime scene. Used Conjure Spirit on her, but got nothing. Clicked the green blood for good measure, too. Then I went back to the chief, then to the Fire Pits, where I talked that group into getting the Blade of Xerxes for me, due to the fact that I am a master in persuasion.

I went back and told the chief I got the blade. He then told me to go down to the old sewers, which I did. Cleaned everything out, got the bone dagger from one of the berserkers even. Got all the treasure. But, when I got the room where Vincent is supposed to be, there's nothing but the chest and a few barrels. There's nobody there.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I've tried reloading a file from before I started this quest, but it still didn't work.

And to those who have read my dwarven mage topic; this is not with him. I have a higher level half-elf mage that I am using currently.

 

There was a similar thread something less than a year ago. Check it out HERE. Sypad had the exact same problem, and reinstalling Arcanum seemed to be the only possible solution. Still, read the thread and see if it helps you in any way.

 

Please describe your installation. This bug (and many others) happens if you install the UAP without applying the official patch first.

P.S. Due to people's inability/laziness to read readme files and check installation paths, the upcoming version of the UAP will be performing a number of checks during the installation to ensure that you have the correct version of the game.

 

Alright, I found the problem.

I don't know who did it for sure, but I believe my brother, who also plays the game, downloaded that custom background file and stuck it somewhere incorrectly.

I've told him to not download anything for the game, but he never listens.

For your original request, Drog, I did install the official patch first, then the latest UAP.

Did the same thing with it this time, too. However, I am making sure nothing else is downloaded unless we know exactly what we're doing with it.

I'm a bit annoyed, though. My half-elf had maximum charisma and willpower, along with master persuasion. Also had all spells for Necromantic White and Black.

Jeez. That's 35 levels I have to gain again. Oh well.

 

Couldn't you have copied your saves in 'Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\Save' somewhere else and put them back afterwards?

 

Tried that, too. I have the file saved, but the game won't load it.

It's not a big deal, though. I can restart a character and be back at level 35 in less than a week. I've got a lot of free time right now.

 

The hardest part of making something great isn't that making of it, it's accommodating for idiots. Thank you, DBT. I'm honestly amazed by the amount of work you put into UAP.
