Hi Q. Glad to see you've not abandoned us entirely.

I've dumped Arcanum in favour of MechCommander 2, now. You play that at all?

Can you tell me what Kingdom Under Fire, is like? I saw it in a shop ages ago and thought "I might buy that when it gets cheaper" but would be interested in a description of the gameplay help me make a decision.

Wouldn't call it boring rather tiresome because of the bugs. People who don't encounter those play it a few times through.

If people aren't here, then maybe they're playing Arcanum!
Seriously, I don't find the game boring. I've only seen one game-crashing bug that was caused by saving while in combat, and I've only had serious slowdown when I decided to kill everything that came out of the portal near Liam's workshop. It can be done. After some time, it stops spawning more enemies, and I think I had 50+ corpses littering the screen... Hehehehe...
    Ohwell. Back to Arcanum.

I was gone for 48 hours, I'll admit it. I love the blend of tech and magic, but I really love making my own items. Much better that finding them! Unfortunately, I get a cumulative memory drain while playing this game, and I'm infested with bugs.

That's the reason I've stopped playing, and joined this board again!

I can't seem to get the trap for the blue bunny. He says he's giving it to me, but it doesn't appear in my inventory. Can you imagine how a bug like this at a time like this could spoil your enjoyment of the game?

Wing Commander 2? Great game. But I'll bet that was not what you meant with "WC2"...
Damn. Nostalgia trip... I want Hobbes back! Why did they have to ruin his character completely in WC3?!? He was one of the good guys, dammit!!

    Ohwell...

Back to topic, farknl, if you've got a memory leak, why don't you get a program like Memturbo that occasionally clears up the RAM? I'm not sure how well it'll work, since I usually don't use it myself, but it might solve the leak problem..
    Just a thought.

Q., did you mean MC2? I'm currently playing it, and having a ball. I'm only on Mission 6, but already impressed with the simple-but-fun Mech design *hardcore players reach for their flamers*

If I get tired of Mechcommander 2 before Civ 3 comes out, I think I'll give KUF a try.

Be careful using garbage collectors - they have their own issues.

I love Arcanum! The only reason I haven't played it much recently is that I also had a neat little obsession with Fallout Tactics, and the fact that I have university tests coming up soon, and I'm a pretty crap programmer (and I have two programming subjects!).

As for the bugs, I can honestly not see what everyone says about the game being infested with bugs...I have yet to have a corrupted save game, the game has crashed to the desktop only about 3 or 4 times, etc etc etc and I've played through the game twice. Fallout 2 was worse, stop whining about it :p.

It doesn't make sense though, that everyone has the same game, yet have wildly different experiences with bugs. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Fark N L to Far Q...I like Warcraft 2 too!

Jarinor, I've get more bugs than other players 'cause my original installation was dodgy. When I reinstalled a lot of the bugs went away, but my char was 20+ in level and I couldn't stand the thought of re-starting the game...so I get more "Crash tinkle" than every one else.
