New Arcanum Desktop Icons!

I created these 4 icons in Adobe Photoshop on Windows XP but should work on all versions of Windows.

Here is the 3 screenshots I made of them in action.

Tell me which one you like best, and I'll share with you the Zip or RAR file containing the PNG format (for ObjectDock), and the ICO format.

I love making things like this, it's so fun!

I may include this one into the new Arcanum theme for Windows, that I create. I like this outcome better, with a better more realistic look.

These are for Vista, right? Planning on making anything awesome for XP?

 

I should have stated... I created them in XP, but they'll work on Vista, and XP both.

 

I need to find out now if the little "Microsoft circle" that takes the place of a start button is replace-able. I'd love to have that big gear from the second set there.

 

Very cool, exept 1 thing.this white text "Arcanum" under those large gears kindda ruins it in my opinion.Remove these and they look VERY good

 

It is possible honestly. There is a way to do this within the Stardock company program called WindowBlinds. Look it up on Stardock.com and you will find it. It has an editor you can get, and use to make your own themes. I use to make them. But life didn't permit it anymore, so I just didn't get around to it.

I may make an Arcanum Desktop Theme with that on there, if you want. It'll take me some time though. I have to brush up on my skills, so I can remember how to do the stuff I use to do. It's been a while since I've done things like this, maybe 2 or 3 yrs.

The program I use for the PNG Icons is ObjectDock. Made by the same company, Stardock. It's a pretty good program. If you have atleast 512 MB of Ram, and a decent graphics card, it'll run fine on your PC. But it don't really take up alot of space, it just demands alot of space. RocketDock is less demanding, but has alot less features, and can be annoying.

I will get around to making some more Arcanum themed graphics, and files for use for many more things on Windows based PCs. Anything I release on an XP machine, will work on Vista as well. So don't worry.

Yeah, that's part of the program, it only shows up when you run your mouse of the icon, so that it can tell you what the icon will take you to, if you click it. In the settings on ObjectDock, you can disable this, but I don't recommend it, it can confuse you, if you change icons alot, like me, lol.

The third one is the best all around, but having the word "Arcanum" going across the gent's face kind of spoils it.

 

That's text, within the program ObjectDock. That has nothing to do with the icon itself. I haven't fiddled enough with ObjectDock yet, to figure out how to change the font, or disable it.

I'll get back to you on that. Now that no one likes that feature, so far... I think I'll try to disable it, and provide instructions on how.

On my desktop, I have it set up to not get larger on mouse over, so it can't cover that up.

 

What about releasing .PSD files ? I want to do some modifications

 

Yeah, if you want the PSD I can give you that too, along with the images. But if you just want the PSD file alone, I can give that too. Send me a message with your email, and I'll send it your way. If there is any addiction things you ask for, do it in the message, to save time.
