That's what I said about you at first too. Though you got better, it doesn't seem he is.

Judging by all the overweight brats I see wandering around the mall nowadays, I don't think that means much anymore. Have you ever met her? How do you know she isn't a terrible mother. You see, this is the kind of critical analysis you should be doing for yourself. Just trusting everyone to raise a kid hasn't been working out so well. Being a mother doesn't automatically mean you're in charge of raising a soon to be successful CEO. It takes hard work, determination, and drive. You have no idea if she has that or not.

And since when does having a baby automatically make someone worth more than someone else. How do you know I'm not a rich author writing soft/medium core porn from the study of my McMansion. Sure it's pretty horrendous writing, but middle aged lonely women who aren't happy in their marriages gobble that shit up.

    Good plot? No.
    Good character development? No.
Attractive men falling for desperate, lonely housewives; oh yes, and lots of it.
Hell, the beuty of the whole thing is that they make up the story in their imgaination. You could probably write the bare-bones instructions for sex (Insert peg A into slot B) and get some 40 something year old woman excited. The only difference between you and I is I don't give a rats ass about dignity, and you dress sex up in some fancy alchemist wrapper. I think Kinsey would be VERY interested in your denial.

    Mmm. Extra-buttery salty goodness.

Rosie spawned some of the new breed of Horsemen. That makes her extra special.

Y'see, now there's the funny thing. I know she has these things because I actually pay attention to the things she posts, instead of being an arsemonkey.

She's helping assure the continuation of the species. Judging by your apparent lack of mental aptitude or anything better to do than write poor porn, that's not something you're in any hazard of doing in the forseeable future.

Because your writing is so fucking terrible that even SMeyer and Paolini, the dieties of bad writing, are disgusted at you!

Even lonely middle-aged women have taste.

Interesting. You appear to be completely aware of why your writing is shit-tastic. Yet you seem determined to defend it. War Of The Daleks, anyone? (This has been Xiao's 'Shit Maybe Two People Will Get' comment for the day.)

Apparently you have something against middle-aged women, seeing as how you keep insulting their intelligence and taste in porn. I know several middle-aged women who openly admit to enjoying porn, and I severely doubt that 'Insert Peg A Into Slot B' would get more than hysterical laughter from any of them.

Well, I certainly won't argue with the first line there. Incidentally, Sex does not always equal Porn. In this particular case, Sex = An Expression Of LOVE. You know, that mystical thing that you have never had and will never experience.

Who the fuck is Kinsey and why should I care what he/she thinks?

Me too. It's...intriguingly awesome. On a separate note though, I'm at a loss as to why Packersfan is still trying to explain himself. Doesn't he realise that we don't actually care?

*bows* I aim to please. In cases like Packersfan, right between the ribs, with a poisoned dagger.

That little bitchslap was so liberating to write. Talk about a load off my mind!

You're absolutely correct. It means you're in charge of raising a person. If your goal for your child's upbringing is to make a successful CEO, you've failed. You may achieve your goal, but likely only because, your child will feel obligated to try to become a successful CEO, even though it's probably not what the child really wants to be. This will make it feel like it's wasting it's live and it'll be an unhappy person.

    Congratulations you failed.

You can pay whatever attention you want to rosie's posts; there's still always the possibility that the member we know as rosenshyne is in fact the creepy, single neighbour of the real mother of cube headed babies.

Last time I checked, we were pushing 7 billion. World population has like, what, tripled in the last century? Yeah, we sure need to assure the continuation of the species now that we have such an empty planet.

    True.

    I beg to differ.

    You'd be surprised. Seriously.

I'm very sure you're right. Point is, arguing that giving birth to children is an act of heroism in this day and age is a moot point to say the least.

Make no mistake. I'm not one of those anti-breeders who get a dog instead. I hate those people. I just happen to believe that childbearing is, ultimately, an expression of egoism insofar you're giving your bloodline a go at genetic immortality. Probably goes along with the Will to Power and all that.

And honestly, I'd have it no other way.

Some would argue that every pair should rise at least two children so the species won't die and so the next generation can work up for the retirements of the previous one. They would call having one kid or none an act of egoism in a global meaning. However I would call it a too mechanical approach to the subject of child raising.

Hey I never said furthering the species was NECESSARY. I just pointed out that at least Rosie was doing something worthwhile, as opposed to being an arsehole who writes incredibly poor 'porn' and who bitches when someone tries to defend their work.

Because seriously. Why must some people take a 'slice of life' moment and try to make it into something sick and perverted?

Wait. I'm HERE. What am I saying? Carry on, gentlemen, just be aware that I still have my flamethrower out and I'm bored.

Mothering is nothing phenomenal, of course, but successful mothering and bringing up a decent kid is worth a little respect. I don't care much, but all I dislike on this subject are large families. They're the source of overpopulation. I'd be happy with one kid, or two if the first turned out to be gay. Not that I'm much of a passive person, but for the record, I don't have anything against gayness. I simply want to poison this world with my blood for as long as possible.

"By the way guys, if you are gay, please remember...rubber up. At your age it's still illegal. You don't want to end up in prison. Some of those guys don't know how old you are, or if you're gay!"

God damn the habit of digression.

Minuos I have to admit I actually laughed out loud when you said:

I just did not see that coming, shock value was great. Moving along, If it were not for the Malthusian Cycles, it is predicted that the world's population would double every 25 years. I for one am glad that we have disease and famine in parts of the world, imagine trying to sustain 12 billion people in 25 years.

I suppose I should be bothered to defend myself...

As a housewife who reads smut for fun, I can tell you that Packerfan's erotica is mediocre at best. That doesn't mean it wouldn't sell. Unfortunately, most of the mothers I know are idiots. Sweet, but stupid. Which means the upcoming generation will be even more self-indulgent than the current one. Of course, I can only generalize America, but I doubt any of you would argue that the US is moving up in the world.

As for giving birth being an accomplishment? Not so much. The birth of my daughter was important only for the fact that it made me get married and take on some responsibility. The birth of my son was, in fact, extraordinary, but mainly just for me. I did it alone, my husband on the other side of the world in a war zone, without the benefit of drugs. I have endured pain and fear that most of you will never come close to, and didn't lose my mind, my soul, or my dignity.

And that all pales next to the job I have before me. I have in my keeping two small people who must make it to adulthood happy, healthy, and educated. They need moral boundaries, good diets, social engagements, experiences to stretch their minds, safety, security, comfort, shelter, love... The list is endless. And they rely on me, highly imperfect that I am, to give them everything they need. I am not like other women. I am not like other mothers. I will raise my children to be smart, functioning members of society who can think for themselves, and I will not psychologically scar them in the process.

Of course, as DE pointed out, there is no way of knowing who I say I am. Not so much because this is the internet, but because no one ever knows anyone else. We all wear masks, every hour of every day.

And the only person who knows the real you is your mother.

Now get the fuck out of my playground.

Zanza: Nice to know my honesty was well-placed, heh.

Rosenshyne: I like you. You have a way with words that's concise but informative, and you clearly take no flak. You sound more responsible than my own mother, and your last line was perfectly placed. In response; "yes ma'am."

As for the subject of the thread, I'm not really interested in smut and can never read more than a paragraph or two without becoming bored at how mundane the situations usually are. In fact, to be quite honest, I have so many issues around sex that I sometimes wish I was gay.

    Nicely put, Rosie. *bows*

Now, back to the subject of the original post, I actually fucked up! Which I blame on the fact that I was too exhausted to actually write more than a few paragraphs or even bother to find my notes... Gah.

The point being, Gwen and Kreis aren't actually Alchemists. They're Magisters. The most important points of difference being this; Magisters have strong innate magic, while Alchemists are quite weak; When a Magister enchants something, it's permanent, and they can learn 'normal' spells quite easily, but Alchemical magic items are usually only worth one or two uses at best, and they can only learn very basic spells that often take quite a bit of learning.

You may return to your discussion of mediocre porn now.

EDIT: Fixed in the light of the fact that I was looking at the WRONG FUCKING NOTEBOOK.
