    I think I shall.

    Documentaries on commercial TV

    1) Programming: 3 minutes of programming followed by 5 minutes of commercials. Then - a 10 minute block of more commercials at the bottom of the hour!
I've timed it. Both the History Channel and National Geographic are really bad about this.

    2) Documentaries that use the first minute after each commercial break to do a recap of the previous segment.

    3) Those thrice-dammed 1/4 screen ads for upcoming shows - up to two weeks in advance - they insist upon running over top of the show you were hoping to watch.
Someone says "Look at this," and points to something at the bottom of the screen but all you get to see is a garish explosion for some movie on another channel.

    And so do I:

    1. Why is so difficult to send some of the fabricated items? I had to wait for three weeks!

    2. Ultima IX...Why...Origin...WHY!!!

I'd like to shout a big Fuck You to the bastards on craigslist who advertise a job opening, only to send you an email asking for your credit card number, social security number, and mother's maiden name.

Why are you trying to scam me, you bastards? I'm poor and fucking unemployed!!!

    Dragonball full stop. Aiyagh.

The live-action Resident Evil films. Dude, just... no. (Resident Evil: Degeration, on the other hand, was fucking win, and had both Crispin Freeman AND Steve Blum voicing characters. Colour me happy fangirl.)

The fact that they've made another shitty Star Ocean game. Obviously the franchise has managed to vanish up its own arse. It's a real pity, too, because having the rereleases of 1+2 has reminded me of how wonderful the series used to be, before they went full 3D and batshit fucking insane.

And finally, the fact that the Phantasy Star Pages haven't updated in a millenium, so I have to go hunting through the immeasurable dross that is fanfiction.net to find Darrell Whitney's latest stuff. I swear, if you like the original Phantasy Star games, go look him up. Read his Alys Brangwin stuff. *snicker*

I actually found the first live-action Resident Evil to be fairly good, although not exactly Resident Evil. Anyway:

-Star Control 3. No. Just......no. At least Ur-Quan Masters exists so I can get my SC fix.

-Approximately 95% of the fantasy genre of literature. Sturgeon's Law dictates that 90% of everything is shit, but it seems even worse in fantasy - even some of the good stuff manages to seem blatantly ripped off from Tolkein. And don't even get me started on the idiocy of scantily-clad swordswomen in leather.

-Stereotyping of Native Americans. Yes, I am a Cherokee. No, I do not live in a teepee. No, I do not own a casino. Yes, the tribe is self-governing. Yes, we have socialized health care. No, I do not wear a feather headdress.

-Myths about Grigory Rasputin and/or his penis. He was absurdly hard to kill and a skilled con man, yes, but he was also a disgusting womanizing pig and reportedly stank like shit because he never bathed. And at least one object claimed to be his wang turned out to be a dead sea cucumber.

So you are into all this business then?

And I hate it when the end credits of a show get either sped up or shrunk and covered in advertising. TV stations are happy to make money broadcasting something but then they dislike giving credit to the people who actually made what you just watched.

"Green" anything. "Green" "reusable" bags one can purchase at his local grocery and use over and over again.

I have a feeling if the Cherokee had had more influence in the West over the past 300 years, there wouldn't be this "green" buzzword floating around.

I don't want to live in a teepee like Bates though.

Actually, that bugs me even more. I, personally, think it's a massive waste of time and effort that could better be spent doing things that are actually beneficial to the Native American community. It's not like it effects anyone negatively, except overly sensitive fuckwads who get offended at anything and everything. Besides, no one gets mad at Notre Dame for using the Fighting Irish, or at my old high school for using the Spartans (or their rivals for using the Trojans). What I have a problem with is people automatically assuming I do/don't do/believe/don't believe things just because of my ethnicity. Not much of a problem here, but when I went to Cali I got a lot of stupid questions thrown my way.

Lol, I would have loved to have gone to a high school with a sports team called the Trojans. I bet nothing could slip past their defense, huh? Had a real hard time recruiting new members, though, I imagine.

Rroyo: That's why I've quit watching tv.

Xiao/Masterbating: Could you explain the mormon/twilight thing to me? Also, could you explain how a Cherokee winds up Mormon?

MB: I agree with you about the Spartan/Native American/Trojan 'political correctness' is garbage.

TDC: Green is a horrible term. Throw in "hybrid" to that list, and you may have my respect. Why "hybrid" because in 10 years, if that, when that battery filled with a man-made compound of an exceedingly toxic, non-reusable nature is now useless, what the hell do you think we're going to do with it? And don't say "refine it." That costs money. That shit's probably going to wind up dumped into rivers and in land fills.

Vorak: This isn't a gripe, but did you hear they're making another Death Note Episode? It's supposedly the final episode they never released.

Grakelin: I hear that the Trojan's defense is like 99% impenetrable.

Oh. PD asked me if I'd told you something. I figured he meant that.

Actually, I saw a preview for it in the movie theatre when I went to see Fast and the Furious 4. So I think that, on that (heh) note, it's actually a fact, and not a rumor?

For the first question, the book was written by a Mormon (Stephanie Meyer) and includes a lot of not-so-subtle references to their ideology.

As for the second question, what kind of question is that? How would my ethnicity affect my choice of religion? But, since you asked, I 'wound up' Mormon because I was born Mormon. Not every member is a convert, although most of the active ones are.

    Ignoring the Mormon bit...

Twilight was written by a sheltered Mormon housewife living in the desert. Which wouldn't bother me so much if only she could fucking write. Truth told, the ideology didn't bother me - plenty of authors I've read over the years have tried to promote their religion through their writing - just the piss-poor quality of, well, everything in the fucking book.

Master Fapper: When I think of Mormon's, I picture the white, suit and tie individuals with no understanding of social norms or personality. I've met (and slept with) a Mormon who was more interesting, but she was one of the only non-cookie cutter Mormons I've ever met. The idea of someone who's not white being Mormon is odd to me, to be honest. I figured you converted out of a liking of their ideology, or something of that nature.

Could you point out some of those references? I'm too lazy to think of them.
