The contents of that news story highlights exactly why the United States of America is now the United States of the Fucking Retarded. Students are coming in dead last in math and sciences when compared to the rest of the industrialized world, teachers in school districts nation-wide are under-qualified and/or grossly incompetent, kids are dealing hard drugs, teachers and students are fucking one another in janitor closets and the police are called in to arrest a 12 year old farter?

One would think the high school environment would punish him enough for farting in class, without the need to call the cops.
They wouldn't because if they did anything to him (from deliberately not playing with him to saying harsh words), they would get in even worse trouble (and the kid would probably get therapy for the social trauma the classmates subjected him to). Remember that in schools there, if there's a fight between two boys, they both get punished regardless of which one started it.
I had a teacher who would 'fart' back. With his hands, of course. Anyway, a boy in our class farted in the middle of class. A girl said that she didn't want to hear the things he did in the shower (referring to the fart). The teacher then asked, "How do you know what he does in the shower??" Amazing, how that half a world away, we're actually getting on with life...
