Then please find me those disadvantages. I'm circumcised, and I've never regretted it, and I'm sure as shit glad that I can't remember the procedure. Hell, if you wait longer than 4 months, you need stitches, so the process becomes even worse.

As for protection, if I ran around naked all day, I might be concerned. Just wear underwear, you'll be fine.

Just because it's there doesn't mean it has a purpose, and if it has a purpose, it doesn't mean that purpose is remotely useful. I have several moles on my back that grew quite naturally. Would you care to tell me the purpose for those.

 

The pleasure is great enough as it is. I already spend half the time during sex trying not to orgasm before she does. I can't imagine how hard that would be if it felt any better. That's probably more about me than you'd like to know...

No, he wasn't talking about moles. I used moles as an example to disprove the 'if it's there, it must have a purpose' statement.

 

A quick look online, and I found few things that serve no purpose:

-wisdom teeth
-body hair
-ostrich wings
-sexual organs on dandelions (who knew?)

 

You mean we haven't discovered the functions of said things?

 

More to the point, I think these things used to have a function, but no longer.

 

Shaving close to the arse-hole will cause chafing, don't ask me how I know, but hair on arse-cheeks, legs, and backs do not serve the same purpose.

So far as my research has gone, I've not found anything conclusive to link penile and prostate cancer with circumcision either way, just several contradictory articles on both sides. There have been recent studies that relate circumcision to cervical cancer and HIV though:

I'm done searching for now. I need to get ready to work soon. Feel free to do your own research and link it as you see fit. After what I've read, I'm a little unsure of all the health benefits of circumcision, but I still don't see it as a violation of human rights, irreversible or otherwise.

 

I'll point out that we circumcised our son. I was against it, on the grounds of "Oh my God, OW!!!" My husband got to make the decision, since he's a male and more inclined to know what the hell to do with man-parts. He voted for the circumcision so baby Doom will look like all the males in his family, and not feel out of place. So there's another reason for you to debate endlessly.

Sorry to tell you this, but your husband is dumb. He seriously told you that the kid was going to get circumcised so he would fit in with the rest of the family? Unless you live on a nudist colony, I don't see this being an issue. Indeed, when the kid ends up in the school locker rooms, he's MORE likely to feel out of place.

The way I figure it: If I'm legally responsible for the kids well being, and am held responsible for the kids actions, then I can chop the tip of his wang off if I want. Or not. Depends on my mood when the doctor asks.
Being circumcised myself, I don't see the big deal. It hasn't changed my sex life. It's always been non-existent.
