I've seen somewhere that if you kill Bates, you can buy his Mansion later for 10k gold. How does this work? Does it work?
I haven't done it, but I think you just kill Bates. After you do that, a guy will be standing outside who'll sell you the mansion for $50,000.
bates after owning bates ...(stasised guards.. then went on a backstabbing frenzy) i went back outside and saw the maN ON THE CORNER to the upper lefthand from the mansion. he is willing to sell u the "crappy house" for 100,000 gold.. ouch
Well, all he gives you is the key, right? Couldn't you just pickpocket or kill him for it? If you've already killed Bates, then killing some random asshole on the street that's trying to rip you off anyway shouldn't be too much of a burden on your conscience.
But then you don't 0//|| the house. :smile: Funny thing there - that huge mansion is inside no bigger then 2 or 3 appleby houses on each story. There's a great dialogue about increasing space in a book called 'Master and Margaret'... at least that's what it would be in english.
