Blackroot Mayor won't accept dagger

I have patched the game with the latest official patch and the unofficial patch. The quest which involves retrieving the ceremonial dagger for the mayor of Blackroot seems to be broken. I can get the quest and retrieve the dagger ok, in my case by pick-pocketing the poison from the alchemist and giving it to the elf-thief who gives me the dagger. But when I return to the mayor, no conversation option comes up to finish the quest. He just answers with one liners. I definitely have the dagger in my inventory. Any ideas what's going wrong and what I can do about it?

 

First of all...this is a bug and you should report it where bugs go(UOP).And i have already made a comment there about it.

 

You're missing the latest update. The hotfix was released on October 10th, please pay attention.

acctualy...i'll use the chance and use this topic...This little taxes fix is a file name called "arcanum6"....so i wonder..There should be 7 of them if i am correct,but i am missing the 4th one (arcanum4).If there is something like that,the plz tell me where i can download it,if there isn't then i just now it.Thx....

 

Arcanum4.dat is part of the 1.0.7.4 patch, which is downloadable here.

 

Is it allowed to post links which direct you to pages which is full of viruses and which u can't close?

 

If you
a) are too stupid to open the Task manager and kill the browser process
or b) it hurts reading your posts,
then it's generally considered legal where I live.

But I doubt the page contained any virus cuz i didnt get 1 wen i visited that page.
