Does anyone know of a good Throne of Darkness site? I started playing it yesterday and its great! Its more of an action game than an RPG but its real time combat system is one of the best I've seen. You only control one character directly but there's a tactical editor which allow you to modify how the rest of the party behaves. It give you far more options than BG's standard scripts and is far simpler to use than BG's off-line script editor :wink:. I'd say it sits somewhere between Arcanum and BG in the degree of control over NPCs, not too much as in BG and not too little as in Arcanum. However for those of you who dont like real time combat TOD may not be the game for you as it doesn't have a turn based combat option :sad:

Yes its certainly out :smile:. After a good many frustrating hours I'm beginning to get the hang of the tactical system. One tip I recommend is don't try using the wizard as your lead character, the game is very fast paced and unless your a hyperactive 10 year old there's no way you can fire off spells as quickly as the computer does when he's under AI control. If you were to do so you seriously reduce the firepower of your team. I get round this by defining several sets of tactics with a different wizard spell selected for each tactic. That way I can change the spells being used by simply clicking on a tactical button rather than trying to control the wizard directly. <font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: Deathlock on 2001-10-09 11:33 ]</font>
I just saw the game at the store. I also saw the preview from the disk. It doesn't seem to be that good. Who made Throne of Darkness again?
