Leveling of followers

Can some followers ever catch up with the overall party level? Magnus is always one level less than rest of my party - Virgil, Dog and myself. We are all level 19 except Magnus, he is level 18.

 

When you hit level 50 you'll still be able to level up followers by getting enough XP for another level 50 (or 51), but anyone who's already 50 will stay at that level. So until that happens, Magnus will lag behind. The trick is to not have gained more levels than any follower you pick up. That way they'll never dip below your own level as long as you have them in the party at the moment you level up.

 

Ah i see. Well that kinda sucks. Its tricky to not have gained more levels than a follower you pick up. Im replaying this game for the third time but i still dont know many followers or their starting level.

EDIT: Btw can certain followers build from your found schematics?

 

Yeah i agree. Anyway, is there a follower guide or something where i can see their starting levels?

Im replaying this game for the third time but i still didnt meet many followers, each time when i played. Is it just me, or followers in this game are a bit "displaced" and should have been put more in "player's way"?

 

This makes the game more interesting...If you want more followers,then you must do some sidequests too, not only advance the main story.
