Hello folks, I wanted to install Arcanum again today. Unfortunately there are 4 corrupt files in my cd and I can't read them. I tried Isobuster to see if it could read the darn cd but no luck Is there anything else I can do? Or did I just loose this game forever? I'm backing up all my precious games now, I don't want another Arcanum incident again. And I know it's not a good way to start a forum, I'm sorry guys..
Is it just the installer can't read them or are they manually inaccessable as well? I had an issue before with an old Arcanum disc, for some reason Arcanum.dat3 wouldn't work during the install, but I could still manually extract the file off the disc myself to complete the install.

Hello again! I finally found a copy of my Arcanum and installed it. Unfortunately when I click on any object the game crashes. And I can't move my character!! It just spins around on the exact same spot where he spawns when you first start the game. And he becomes invisible sometimes !?? Any ideas?
WTF ? Either you're not telling us that, your computer is broken or 10 years old, or you're expiriencing the worst glitch arcanum has ever produced. Try copying the files from the CDs to your hard drive and run the installer from there, if you manage to copy the files successfully. If not then try extracting them yourself or try reading the disks on a different computer. Also, are you running windows ME ?
I copied all files to my computer and burned new cds. I'm using XP SP2. But I haven't installed the 1.0.74 patch!! I'll try it right now. Even thought Arcanum has millions of bugs, I don't mind. It's still one of the greatest RPGs. Probably the best after Fallout2. Edit: Ok, I installed patch. But it's still acting the same way. Strange thing is if I select a premade character everything works fine. If I create my own character it won't move. D'oh !! Edit2: Ok, this only happens if my character is a male human. That's what most of my characters are !! Any ideas why this funny thing happens? I really don't want to play a female character (No offense ladies, I love you all)
Maybe install new graphics drivers... As strange as this may sound for an old game, it may help. It helped me once, altough that was back in 2003... Generally its either some weird glitch with your graphics card or your files are messed up in some strange way. Also installing Drog's patch may help.
I started the game with a dwarf character. But I can't see the "human noble" characters. Their shadows appear in the ground but no figure visible. It tends to crash when I talk to them but most of the time it turns out fine. Very strange bug I ordered another Arcanum from Ebay. I can't bear loosing this game. I'll play carefully untill I receive my other copy. Thank you all!
Really? Just nobles? I think all the social classes use the same art. Or do you mean people in suits?
I meant people in suits, it says "Human Noble" when you move the cursor on them. Hello folks, I received my new copy Arcanum today but I can't install!! It has trouble registering the game. When installation is %100 complete it tries to register the product but it gives this error. I tried isntalling twice and no luck. Any ideas? This is a brand new game, just out of its box!

Thansk a lot Bob! Whenever I tried to install the game in some other folder than the default C/Sierra/Arcanum it gave me this message. I installed it in the default fodler and it worked fine. Duh.. silly installer!! Anyways I'm heading to Caladon at level 47.. I'm really pissed that I can't find this Tyron guy? How am I supposed to find him without any clue? That crazy drunk man in the gentlemen pub won't tell me anything. And I don't know what I can do with the matches I found in the Tarant cemetary ??
Bugger ! Since I took Magnus I can't enter Tarant Whenever I sail there, it gets dead slow just as I exit the docks.. I need to go and get my inventory from my house Any ideas?? Edit: I'm about to start crying. I reinstalled the game, nothing changed. So I loaded a savegame before I took Magnus and Tarant started to work fine. But then another silly bug appeared. Whenever I have a random encounter game crashes Help me please!!! Is there a way to turn off random encounters ?? I'll really cry if my level50 tech char is useless
