    So, I've recently reinstalled Arcanum on a whim. Thing is, WoW sort of spoiled me and I'm fond of the convenience a windowed mode option brings. As far as I can see from the game settings, Arcanum doesn't allow for it... but is there a way of inducing windowed mode via some other means?

    Thanks in advance.

    I just pause the game and ALT-TAB to minimize it. Works just fine.

    I do that myself. But on the occasion when I actually FORGET to pause the game, most of the keyboard commands no longer work when I TAB back in. Most notably, I can't use "ESC" to get to the menu, F7 doesn't work for a quick save. So, my advice is before using ALT-TAB, save the game just in case you get this annoying glitch.

    I have even worse problems, some of the time. The art gets all screwed up, the mouse is invisible, etc. I know it's a well-known bug, but it's still annoying.

    I just press the key on the keyboard that opens up the Start Menu and the game minimizes automatically and opens up again with no side-effects

    Hello, here is how I make the game run in a window :

    1. Download D3DWindower there http://files.filefront.com/D3DWindower+ ... einfo.html (I'm not sure about the link, so double check for any virus, you never know).

    2. unRAR the file in a directory.

    3. Launch the software "D3DWindower-English.exe"

    4. Press the + button, then browse and select your arcanum .exe.

    5. Arcanum should appear in the list, right click on it then select the first menu (the one with a (O) )

    6. Configure the soft as this :
    [Common]
    Height = 800
    Width = 600
    Make sure the "Use Windowed Mode" box is ticked.

    Switch to the [Window Mode] tab
    Make sure the first 3 boxes are ticked and "untick" every other boxes on that page.

    Press OK.

    7. Press the "PLAY" button.

    8. Launch the game as usual, it should be in a window.

    That works fine for me.
    I'm not the creator of that tool, so don't ask me for help :p

    Btw, hello everyone, I'm new to the arcanum fan club.

    The program recommended is <omitted>. Before installing this program I recommend googling it and reading all the links about it being a virus.

    I know this is an old post, but if I found it someone else might also.

    See the post below, rather than installing a virus. -DF

    This functionality is already a part of the UAP. Just add -window to your desktop shortcut.
