Gems, what are they good for?

Hello,

on my Journey through the Arcanum Universe I'm finding quite a few Gems, by now i collect them in my "homebase" in the warehouse in Tarant, always wondering what they are good for. Should I sell them, I'm playing a pure Tech Char?

And a second Question, I bought the game from Ebay, without handbook, is there a chance for a ranged char to make shots to different bodyparts like in fallout, I've read about it numerous times but cannot find any option within the game's UI for it ...

Gems are good for selling, with two exceptions. You're going to want to keep a kathorn crystal (if you haven't already used it), and gems can be used in the pagan gods quests as offerings. Also, heartstone (if it can be considered a gem) is valuable, so keep track of it.

You can indeed call shots, with a penalty. I've never used it, but you can find the manual in .pdf form, in this site's download section.
