Hey all Is there a pre-existing editor I can use to change the weapon proto files, or must I use a hex editor to do it?
This thread talks about it and how to use: http://terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=12778&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Thanks, but those download links are not working. Does anyone have have any other locations to get this?
*bump* Is there any guide on how to edit protos? At the very least via hexeditor? I`m oh so desperate with the hushed revolver, help me please!
I'm also fond of editing Hushed Revolver. I think for it being so high up in Gun Smithy it deserves a little more. maybe just like Fine Revolver just hushed. that damage and range minuses from Fine Revolver make me really hate Prowling and putting away my hand cannon for the Hushed Revolver as is. if it at least did Revolver damage prowling combat would go smother.
There is a java based weapon proto editor that should be downloadable on this site. It will only edit the values of weapons, however; no changing the weight or stats of your armor or the value of bullets. Here it is, on Frigo's wiki.
Sir, that is fantabulous! ... however after editing hushed revolver to my liking and downloading it, the damned thing uses incorrect sound table - the same as other loud guns, which kinda defeats the purpuse of "hushed" revolver. Oh bloody hell! So... how to change the sound table of a weapon? PS: I opened a proto with a hex editor. But dang, hex editing seems complicated. Numbers numbers numbers. I was always afraid of numbers :-o Numerophobia strikes me hard. Any advice, on which lines should I pay attention? PPS: Hah! I figured out, how to make my modified revolver use correct soundsvia hexeditor. My intellect is amazing! I`m semi-genius ...however it seems, that in game terms it is still not as silent, as it should be (like a dagger). Therefore I will continue my quest for the holy..., I mean hushed, revolver PPPS: I made it! Sebastian would be proud. My thanks go to Frigo for pointing me in the right place, Dkoepp for his proto editor and Otto Krupp for his guide on editing protos. Yay!
