    Welcome to the forum, personaboy!

OK - So you're wanting to learn basic modding. I'll go ahead and warn you now, modding Arcanum is not easy - but it is rewarding. There's a lot to learn, so if you're willing to put forth a bit of effort:

You'll need a few things to get you started, beginning with a word editor like Notepad or Wordpad.

You will also need the 1.0.7.0 version of WorldEd. Here it is:

    http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/tools/WorldEd_en_1070.zip

And the AMTUT or Arcanum Module-making TUTorial. It is a wonderful step-by-step guide for the beginning modder and covers such things as dialog creation, towns, scenery, etc.

    http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/resources/amtut_part1.zip
    http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/resources/amtut_part2.zip
    http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/resources/amtut_part3.zip
    http://www.terra-arcanum.com/downloads/arcanum/resources/amtut_part4.zip

Download these and - for your sake - do the exercises! You'll be glad you did.

One thing in particular that AMTUT doesn't cover is follower creation. The tutorial is still incomplete.
So - here's the dialog files for a female follower named Priscilla Penn:

By the time you finish the tutorial, you should have a good understanding of what most, if not all those cryptic numbers and letters stand for.
If not, help is available here.

    I hope I didn't scare you away.

    Define damaged.

It just downloaded and unpacked without a problem for me.

I just spotted this in the quote you made:
I'm not sure what happened there but here's the link again:

A detail or two about what doesn't work would be helpful.

Use Total Commander to create zip files (and for any other task, it's the most efficient & comfortable way).

Or the "free" version of WinRAR that was available for some days about a year ago.

Tried it. Total Commander can unpack them flawlessly.

Alright. I think I've made a point. Tell me, if you go to a website, any site, can you download a file and have it work? I'm thinking he's'ving either permissions or virus issues. That's what this sounds like to me.

I believe your antivirus software is a little sensitive, try to switch it off.

someone needs to write a few more tutorials to cover this stuff. If only I didn't have finals and papers due for the next week and a half...

personaboy - you are saying that something is TELLING you to not download the file? So you didn't actually download it, or you got the error after downloading it and trying to extract it? is it your extracting program or some other program that is telling you it's broken/dangerous?

Yea, glad to see y'all're coming to the conclusion I was: bud, do you get any notices regarding the download? Also, are you on your own computer, or is it a family computer? Your parents may've some form of 'download-filter' running.
