    Hello!
I have been obsessively playing Arcanum for a few months now, and in honor of this wonderful game I have started drawing a webcomic illustrating the good-alignment path through the game.
    The first page starts here:
    http://arcanum.smackjeeves.com/comics/358817/01-00/

I plan on not making the dialogue exactly as in the game, just so I can do it from memory instead of playing through the game again and writing down every thing said.

Does anyone have screenshots of all the locations/items in the game? It would be pretty helpful for the drawing. The item list on Terra Arcanum seems to be broken. Thanks!

I've always thought the best part about reading a web comic was being able to see from point A to B how far the artist has come along in their skill. There's always such a change in how a character's look will ascertain their personality, and I think that's pretty refreshing.

As for the locations and locations of items, I'm sorry.

    I love your style!

Mike's RPG Center has lots of maps and other things you might find useful.

If you want to know the specific location of something else, just ask in this thread. I might not have enough time on my hands right now to help you but I'm sure someone else will.

    BTW, Virgil needs more stubble.

hey nice work. I'm definitely going to check on this from time to time. I like your style. Also, nice attention to detail - I saw those in-game items you put on stennar.

I don't know if you have a specific storyline in mind -- i don't know if you're going to go for a more humorous approach later on-- but if possible, i would love to see riztezze and especially hervor.

Thanks guys! You are all very kind.

@ Dark Elf: Oh, this site was just what I was looking for. Thanks muchly!
As for Virgil, I will add more stubble.

@ team a: I'll probably be following the game pretty closely, just without the unimportant side-quests (ie, getting pure ore for Lloyd Gurloes.) You can definitely count on Riztesse being in there, although I'm not too sure how I could put in Hervor, since I'm taking the goody-two-shoes path. Maybe just to warn him about Jongle Dunn? Ha...

Only include side-quests if they tie into the mainquest somehow. Redundant plot elements are a killer, Tom Bombadill was cut from the LotR movies for a very good reason. Jongle Dunne is only in if you need to go to Dernholm, or for comic relief. Just a tip.

You don't have to, I just thought his portrait looked more shabby than your depiction of him. ;)

Hey, this can be good, which followers are you going to include?

I have a smackjeeves webcomic too, which I guess you could say is semi-based in Fallout.

I have added yours to my favourites, and rated all of them.

This is really good! You sure know your way with editing a comic. I'll be following this one.

I hate to do this, but I need to give you at least a little critisicm; you won't become better if you don't know your flaws.

First off, though, +1 point for your style. I like the way you draw.

Now, the bad stuff. You need to make the story a little bit clearer; spend a little more time with each instance. Someone who hasn't played Arcanum might find your comic a little confusing, and I think, as an experienced Arcanum player, that you've skipped out on a LOT of important conversation. Don't rush it.

Hopefully, you'll give Shrouded Hills as much attention as it deserves.

    Keep up the good work.

Mr Radcliffe and Virgil are familiar, yet not the same that in the game. Which is good! I love artwork where people add their own imagination of a character. Can't wait to see the next ones.
As for Wolfsbane advice, I agree. For us it will have sense since we know much of the conversations by hearth, but for those whih don't know the game it would seem quite chaotic. making it a bit more clear could effect in more people being interested by the plot and starting to play Arcanum when they didn't even hear about it before.
I remember one other Arcanum webcomic about an half-orc which ended about the end of the Crash Site. I hope your zeal will last much longer. You have a viewer in me for sure. :)

    I thought #9 was especially good - http://arcanum.smackjeeves.com/comics/359997/01-09/
I liked not only the artwork here, but how you told the story of the crash site. I immediately recognized the half-ogre pilot. the use of the medallion in the right side of the lower frame was also a nice touch.

About Hervor - yes, he's not at all necessary for the story, and I thought of him for comic relief. More importantly, though, I think his character and the engine properly locate not only Shrouded Hills within the political and technological arena, but the entire game within the time period. Shrouded Hills' only real piece of modernity is located in an old Penarii temple, contrasting the old, mythic history of Arcanum with its more recent surge of technology. And, although it's considered somewhat important to the town, it shows a distance from technology in that the so-called "town hall" is almost abandoned, the steam engine serves little visible purpose, and the technologist they choose to perform maintenance is not very bright and doesn't really understand the machine's workings. it's classically provincial.

how much are you planning to deviate or reinterpret the storyline? if not at all, the actual steam engine quest would be a real sidetrack. However, I think most players are quick to explore the temple upon arriving in Shrouded Hills, and this would serve as an anchor for many people's experience. And, Hervor can be talked to without doing anything about the engine itself. The fact that it's a Penarii temple could involve a limited dialog with Virgil about who the Penarii are (although this latter bit would be a sidetrack).

Nice. I like webcomics based on games. There is a really good one on the web based on Fallout, namely xulm's Vault 12 Comic. Check it out, 'cause it rocks.

As for your Arcanum comic: personally I'm not too fond of the art, simply because it's not the sort of style I like to see in comics, but I can't deny the fact that it's very spontaneous and energetic and that you know how to draw intriguing characters. I also agree with Wolfsbane that someone who hasn't played Arcanum might not be able to follow as easily as we do. Still: I like the concept and what you've done with it so far. Keep up the good work!

It's quite a nice story of how could the beginning of the ghuls look like. The ending is cool,
I never thought that would be the first thing one would see after after opening the Vault gates, and all the dead bodies of those the didn't get inside were very climatic.
