though there are a lot of followers who don't count against your limit like "worthless mutt" i seem to remember having 10 followers at one point in time. 5 normal ones. dog and i think waromon. then a couple of summons and w/e. pretty cool storming into Tarant with my little mini-army.
Dog is free, so is Jormund and (I think) Dante. Summons, automatons and whatnot can be had in legions.
