Spell upkeep noises

I hate them! Most notably, the agility of fire spell is something I have up a lot, but the constant pulsing drives me nuts. Is there an easy way to rid myself of these noises? Beauty of water, etc are also irritating, but the fire one is the most annoying.

Help?

 

I was pretty sure there was an old hack (from soon after the game's release) which fixed this but after looking through my collection of files I could not find it. I think it may have been something someone on the old Sierra boards just whipped up. Or maybe I am confused and it was just that people wanted it to exist, not that it did exist.

does this also remove the sound of the flying familiar?
Imho it way to loud for such small creature...

 

I'm also sure that this was an early hack... Unfortunately, I don't have it in my archives anymore. Unfortunate, because I'd really like to stop those sounds, now that I'm playing Arcanum again. The link provided here is long since expired, of course - any chance of someone uploading it somewhere again? Pretty please?

Well, if anyone did pick up this file, please let me know because the constant THUMPTHUMP is driving me nuts. I've resorted to playing the Arcanum soundtrack in Winamp and keeping the game muted at times (I'm aware you can adjust individual levels in the menu, but the soundtrack is fun to listen to while I play anyway).

Was that supposed to be some sort of punishment?
