Science law is based on that idear that it is valid when it is than close system you are looking at. Than ice box to keep food cold if it is than close system would work at all as where would dump the heat it remove from the ice box.
But it you look at the ice box as than open system it work fine because it dump the heat outside of itself. Science alway assume than close system. But
is the Universe than close system or than open system. When I was than boy they taught that universe was than sphere 8 billion light year in diameter now we teach it is than 40 billion light year sphere in diameter.

It was in all the science books and text book than sciencist where able to see out to 4 billion light year useing the 200 inch telescope. It was the telescrope in oebit around earth that was able to see out to 20 billion light year so you cannot blamd the treacher really.
