Can followers lockpick?

I notice Virgil has the lockpick skill but I have little idea as to how to ask him to do it for me. Can anyone help? When I right-click on his portrait, there isn't any option for him to lockpick. Please help.

 

yes your followers can lockpick,but only if they have the skill,a set of lockpicks,and their skill is higher than yours.to lockpick,you just put your lockpicks on your belt,and drag them towards the thing you want to lockpick,and virgel will say something like "here let me help" or something like that and he will try to lockpick it.

 

Not sure if this will work but try use lockpick yourself with Virgil nearby. Maybe he will offer to do it for you.

In Arcanum I use the easy unlocking cantrip. No hassle.

Elfro is right, but good luck getting Virgin to actually pick a lock. He tries and tries until he ends up jamming the lock.

Lockpicking followers are annoying, you have to make them wait when you lock pick (if ur skill is lower) even if ur using fate point at the time, or if they got no lock picks.

 

Well actually all I did was to bash the locks open with me bare hands. My hp didn't fall below 1, so it was alright to use my hands :smile:

 

Unlocking Cantrip works well, but when I couldnt open it with that spell I usually bashed it open.

 

With the patch you only need one set of lockpicks ... or so i've read.

 

With the patch, I don't think you need the lock pick.
