as a gunslinging bandit i was in combat and i dropped my gun forceing me to use my hands but for some reason i got a critical miss and decapitated myself mith my HANDS :-? so now i am confused :/
Did you die? I ask because if you didn't that's a stupider bug than decapitating yourself with your hand, which theoretically is physically possible.
I'm not sure about the technical validity of something like that, but I'm pretty sure about the non-technical awesomeness of it.
Doesn't matter what you are using to attack; if you get a bad enough critical miss you can end up in pieces. Even in PnP if you roll 2-3 bad enough miscues you might end up braking your neck. Arcanum lacks an animation for that so you got the head poppin one instead.
Thing about that is; It's much more funny than watching your pc go ragdoll after accidentally punching itself in the base of the skull.
yes but it would of been stupid if you dident i mean you would be like a headless chicken! also who uses the called shots? it says stuff about them in the pdf manual
I use called shots whenever I fight humanoid opponents. They don't seem to matter on anything that can't hold a weapon. Of course, I've never tried shooting a bear in the foot.
I like to use aimed shots i the head with my gunslinger, cos then very often my foes die in a decapitating death animation, which in some insane way looks quite lovely for me. Also, the shots seem to be stronger then, maybe it's just the placebo effect, but that's just how it looks.
Certainly, there is some kind of penalty for aimed shots. But when you are very powerful, have a good armour and have a 125% chance of hitting, it really doesn't matter, and it simply is more fun by decapitating people than seeng the standard death animation.
I liked seeing meadmug cut himself in half with the sword of sickness... that made my day, till i died because the muscle was now in two pieces...
Critical failures with the pyro axe are something to behold. Here's a hint; Drop one on the ground next to Torian-Kel when he's got nothing else in his inventory.
