OK - so how would you you pronounce my handle? r-royo?

(When I was using rRoyo in my stories, the double-R was an attempt to force a rolled R pronounciation on the reader.)

 

I'd use an over-enunciated R sound. Instead of rolling the r's, I'd instead extend the normal sound to double it's length.
Kindof like a dog might pause before barking;
"rrrrRUFF!!"
