In the very start, where you have to go through the temple of trails, can you talk that guy into moving the obelisk? I'm playing a diplomat and temple is hard for him.. besides i REALLY hate the temple part. Fallout2 has one of the worst starts  If anyone has a save when they are in klamath can I plz have it? Ill edit it into whatever i want to be.

So this is a two-game forum. Arcanum and Fallout. How about Baldur's? :p

    Try Vault13.net

Oh, and you can talk the guy out of fighting you in the Temple of Trials.

I agree, the ToT was a really bad idea.

    Fallout kicks ass!

the ToT did suck, but it was really easy to get through. Did anyone ever try running down to SF right after Arroyo? That always got me about 8 levels in about 45 minutes.

I dont mean the guy you have to fight, the one who stands near the obelisk OUTSIDE the ToT...

I've played Fallout II so many times I can't even count anymore, and I have no idea who you are talking about, Ioo. If you're not talking about the guy you have to fight (the "boss" of the temple), then who are you talking about? The guy who stands outside of the temple? What obelisk? Why do you want him to move it?

    I'm confused...

Man it's hard to belive that you guys ever do anything unnecesary to beat the game..

That tribal that is outside TOT when you start the game, the OBELISK with skulls on it is blocking the way, when you beat TOT, the obelisk is moved a few tiles off so you can go back to TOT. If you tell him u need to go to the village he says u gotta beat TOT and if u tell him ull kick his ass he says "You need two men to move the OBELISK..."

    if anything try replaying it

Oh, I get you now... Sorry, it's been a loooong time since I played the game.

Anyway... Nope, as far as I know, there's no way to get him to move the Obelisk. If you want to get back to the village, you'll have to go through the temple. Although I swear one time I killed him and went back into the village. Unfortunately, this made everyone in the village attack me, and if I remember correctly, if you kill the old lady, it immediately ends the game.

But like I said, it's been a long time, so I could be totally wrong about that.

I killed him many times, but the obelisk still blocks the way. I made a new char, it's weaker but more agile, so I could deal with the ants, the rest is unchanged. And I'm in Den. Being a diplomat is nice, don't have to search for Smily, or kill all those annoying rats. :p

Though the times i beat it before I usualy played a fighter and had 100 speech and barter too, so I dunno if playing this diplomat will be different from my fighter diplomat, except that I cant fight to save my life. My IN is 10 tho and perks are good natured and Jinxed

Damn, Ioo... You're bringing back so many memories. It's about time I played the Fallout(s) again. Too bad I can't find my game discs anymore.

Oh well, I read somewhere that EBworld is offering a 2for1 deal. Fallout II in box w/manual (the oh so awesome manual), and the original Fallout I and manual thrown in for only $12 bucks. Hope that deal lasts for awhile, since my bank account is basically busted until I get paid again.

So Fallout I is regularly being packaged with the full retail version of Fallout II? That's great to hear. I'm picking up my copy as soon as I have enough cash. Damn food is expensive... If only I didn't have to eat to survive...

Anyway, I saw a little double jewel case deal at Fry's that had both fallouts. $12 bucks, but no manuals. I gotta have those manuals...

Actually, I'm not so sure it was Fry's anymore. One of those discount hardware/software places. Fry's... Best Buy... what's the difference?

I'll end up buying it online anyway. I want the manuals. And yeah... the "Fallout II Hintbook" the drunk priest gives you after the game is cool. Doesn't your character actually say something like "Now why couldn't you have given me this at the BEGINNING of the game?!".

Hah, Fallout I and II is golden.

    I liked the ToT

I only had problems with the guy who was the final opponent but other than that it was piece of cake. And my character was a diplomat with no points in HtH/Melee skill. Am I that lucky or that good

Well it's really easy actually with Frank if you get those guys to kill him, and aim the towers at him. But I wanted to kill that fucker myself

With my bozar in one hand, and gauss rifle in another, we spent a while together... where would i be without my good ol' super stims.

If you don't care for the Fallout manuals, you've never thumbed through them.
