    Heh, I don't get the raves over the quality of the dog melee... Any decent melee type with the pyrotechnic axe will do as much or more damage than the dog can, and can be equipped to actually SURVIVE being counter-attacked. I parked that dog in Tarant and left him about the 50th time he got popped in the first round and I had to reload.

    And he isn't a master in melee anyway, he's apprentice.

    i dunno he didnt die much for me, mebe u jus send him ahead and he dies. i never had the IN..and neither the expertise to put together a pyro axe for my melee mage half orc:( i kept on using mystic great sword and sword of air...and whatever is good that i find

    I actually went to test that out...I wanted Dogmeat to finally speak (while not being mechanical)...*sigh*

    Hmmmm.... no pyrotechnic axe, maybe that explains why some people seem to think the dog is such a great melee fighter. And no, I don't send antbody "ahead" to attack on their own, the dog just draws a lot of aggression for some reason. All the big melee NPCs do. The problem with the dog drawing the aggression is that he doesn't live through it most the time.

    Neat thing too is that Dogmeat also doesn't count towards your number of followers.

    That's definitely a good plus.
