Put 2-2 points into meelee and dodge, and 2 more to firearms, if you want. You don't need to put into intelligence, you can boost it with essence of intellect to access tech levels. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use technology when your intelligence will fall back, but any points invested in tech skills will remain. You can use either essence of intellect or tech manuals to use the skills again; this is needed anyways for the electro armor. The preferred tech disciplines are electric to shocking staff (4) or chapeau of magnetic inversion (5) (though you can find one at liam), gun smithy to hand cannon (6, I think; only if you want firearms), and smithy to feather-weight axe (3) (for building pyrotechnic axe)

As soon as you can, complete the god quests, this gives you some advantage to melee, dodge, firearms, pickpocket, and I think, persuasion. (Meanwhile, you need to improve your main stats, because your skills will be dependent on them, the points got on the god quests will be available with sufficient main stats, though you can increase them later)

Pfff, that's all I can think about now.

Don't bother with firearms if you are going melee, though I would consider getting at least 10 Int if you are going charasmatic.

Instead, go with 2 points in Electric (which gives you +4 Dex with the rings) This can seriously help early on.

    SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON

Solve the painting quest first in Tarant, then do the Fortune tellers, this gives you +1 to Charisma. Don't start the fortune tellers until you have done the painting quest otherwise you just get told where the painting is.

Get the Jewel of Hebe too while you are at it, its stat neutral.

Remember that fairly late in the game you are going to get the Vivifier, so don't worry too much about maxing your stats, just get them to where you are happy with them.

option 1) At the Tarant University, there's a man who studies the ancient gods. He will show you a riddle that you need to solve

You have to kill them if you want Magnus, if you don't want Magnus, you don't have to kill them.

Yeah i guess I had to kill them. I'm not too keen listening to a dead corpse. Kinda creepy if u ask me. I got magnus with me but he likes to argue with what I do. He didnt even talk to me when i was an Ogre. I think it was the Intelligence of 4 or I called him some mean names. :)

I'd kill those stupid Schylers anyways, they're liviing in my hideout! Its the best place I've found to store all your excess junk and raw materials. With three levels and 16 storage containers it beats most everything. Haven't tried the Bates mansion yet, but its on my list this go-around. The warehouse is another descent hideout, but there's always a possibility of someone getting in. Plus, Tarant is in the middle of the map, and has rail and sea access.
Magnus is a good NPC cause he can make stuff, including the feather-weight axe. Plus he's a respectable fighter, and has a sub-quest attached to him!
Not that making stuff is always good. Jayna for instance, while I drag her around with me to make healing stuff and stat boosters, she has a horribly-bad habit of chopping her own head off during combat. Give her a pyro-axe, and stand back for a good laugh!

Lol, I usually just store my crap in Riztesses cabinent thing where he keeps his map. He never touches it. Oh by the way, I got the update patch but it takes everything except my health bars and item bars off the screen. its a bit retarded is it supposed to be that way?

I read a post somewhere about some master thief getting in there. Not sure if he lifted anything, or was just proving his prowess. The Shylers involves sub-levels, which NPC's seem to avoid.

With the patch, yeah it does hide the interface panel. Its kind of annoying really, but you can press 'k' to bring it back, but you have to reset it all the time. I dont recall how to make it stay though.
