Remembering fun momments in Arcanum!

Hey folks! The purpose of this post is to have us remember Arcanum. Remembering the fun momments of a game that needs to be remembered and in hopes of us picking Arcanum back up. Please just post a time that you remember fondly, no flames or anything off this topic pretty please There are other posts for that :thumbup: So here we go!

I recently picked up Arcanum again and it never bores me to trick Lukan the Witless to leave Shrouded Hills, what a dork! :lol:

 

Wow, I need to play this game too again.

But I enjoyed overcoming my fear of those creatures from the scientist's portal and killing them during my second playthrough (it might have been the second time I got there and not the second time I finished the game, I don't remember, I just remember that it was a long time ago).

 

Gar, you just got to love him. Best Pure Melee NPC Garfield Remmington the 3rd of pure human stock at your service! I think I got his full name

One of my most memorable experiences in Arcanum was when The Dog was killed by that damned Cursed Paladin. Just so I could get the dog back, I reloaded a save from about 2 hours prior to the cave in the Bangellian Deeps. I'm not used to making mistakes.

 

The melee/dodge mastery quest/quests is/are sweet!

 

Virgil in the beginning, when you're an idiot. "Follow me idiot! ... I mean, "Oh Living One".."

It's just wonderful to hear him complain to himself about how unlucky he is all the time.

 

I forgot! The time I played a dumb character and got to Shrouded Hills, I talked to the Sheriff, and started insulting him.
"You tiny man. No can keep town safe" or something
"Me have good time wit yer wife. She no like you, you smelly."
"She smelly, too. Hur hur!"

 

Voighul...Voygheul...or something. I've seen three or four different "Virgil"s.
I like the 2nd one I posted.

 

Haha yes, and Virgil grumbles to himself. I did that brielfy :lol: I think the speech done in general is done really well and in a memoriable way. Magnus, Virgil, and Gar come to mind Keep those great Arcanum memories coming! :thumbup:

 

The time I liked best was those discoveries of things you shouldn't be able to do.

Like being able to walk along the coast from the Caladon side of Razor's Point into Cumbria - without obstruction.

 

Ahhh, Virgil with a dumb-ass PC. Much fun!

Geoffrey being cranky is always hilarious. The occasional arguement between Virgil and Magnus are fun, and my imagination has a habit of creating more whenever I'm bored...

 

Ahh yes, all the feedback is great. It is good to remember good momments in gaming history :thumbup:
I thought the opening video to Arcanum to be real cool, very rustic and calm music, very good time
Don't forget to check the other 2 forums, TOEE and Bloodlines, they are worth remembering too

 

True, but they're kinda... deserted around here.

 

The thing I remember most is the B****y Ancient Maze and that damned sword. I tried everything to get at that. Spent hours thinking of new ways to get over the wall. Dynamite, Grenades, Spatial distortion. Never did get in there.

 

Just a quick question.

Do you think that sword should be made accessable in a hack?

 

If you are gonna make it accessible in a hack, at least change the sword fors omething worth the bother of trying to get for hours on end.

Maybe create a very special sword hat does OMEGA damage
