force shield - why does it not work?

im using a force shield and it says does 1-10ED (electric damage i assume) to attacker with uses listed as "+" but no dmg is done when i get hit so wats the problem?

 

you mean the shielf of force spell lvl 1 in force college. i havent really seen it hurt. what it does is increase ur AC and DR. with big MA its some nasty shit

What do you mean? Shield of Protection or Wall of Force?

 

I think he means exactly that.. the force shield. Its an off hand item like AC30 with 1-10ED to target.

Maybe it needs charges or something, it has never worked for me either. That said I still use it because of the high ac on it. Take what you can get, right?

 

Now that I think about it, I've never seen it work either, and I've played through 4 times now as a mage and made extensive use of them. I wonder... maybe you can't be using a melee weapon?

 

I've never seen it work as well. At least, not when I've been struck.

I noticed it had a uses stat... maybe it has to be used to get the damage shield to kick in. I have no idea since I play tech characters and can't use it anyway... Followers don't seem to know how to use items.

As if followers actually know how to do _anything_!!!
