You can't use the save game editor to get past 50, and you obviously didn't install it right. Double check everything, and try using fewer punctuation marks; if the number of question or exclamation marks in a post exceeds the number of sentences the game may crash.

The mes file goes into sierra/arcanum/data/rules folder. You may also edit the mes file to level up in a way you want. First copy the mes file to a new file name and edit the original mes to .org. After editing the mes save it to the original file name.

You will probably need to create the rules folder just below data.

Don't recall DKoepp ever adding levels 51-127 to the save game editor since there was no point. If you can edit all the stats to give yourself maxed everything, what does it matter if your level 1 or level 1000?

Sorry I didn't leave all info but here it is. Chenge your view to see the dot file end. Then edit the exe for arcanum.exe to org. Then copy the new arcanum.exe from the download to the same folder as the arcanum.org. This new exe file will read the mes file from the rules folder.

Does this new arcanum.exe require the CD, or does the renamed arcanum.org still work as before (I'm running the no-cd patch as mentioned before)?

And no double posting. Read over a few threads to find out what's what around here. Or we will kill you. And welcome to HoL.

I swear, we need a Charter page. Something with big red letters that says NEW MEMBERS: READ THIS FIRST.

Judging by how many newbies read it, it needs to be placed somewhere more prominent. Like, across the forum navigation bar.

The bigger it is, the less is the chance that the newbies will notice it. According to the law of the universe, the only time a thing will repeatidly occur is when the chances are one million to none. Therefore, we should make an invisible sign in the size of a pixel somewhere on the screen. Most obviously, the newbies will click on it.

I moderate a very very active club forum for a type of Nissan car, believe me I understand. What we did was create an evolving FAQ in it's own section, a section at the formost part, and it gets locked except for moderators who can add new items at their discretion... do you have one of those? I didnt see it... or an answer to my question ;)

I got that patch a year back and it didn't work for me either.

But after some checking and messing around, I found out the following:

FIRST: Your executable has got the maximum level cap set in about four separate places.
SECOND: xp_level.mes on its own in the Arcanum directory doesn't do anything.
THIRD: Two of the DAT files (no 3 and 4, if I am correct) contain xp_level.mes

The first is solved by finding a program (forgot its name, though) that edited the executable and changed the limit.
The second is solved by... not doing anything. I put the MES file in there, though, just for the sake of my own little paranoia.
The third is solved by using the UNDat utility to unpack the DATs, replacing the XP_level.mes with the expanded version and repacking the DATs again.

Since some other Arcanum players from the are have asked me for sharing this fix with them, I have the no-cap fix archived in two versions, one for Arcanum 1074 ENG, one for Arcanum 1074 PL.

Where would you like me to send/upload this thing so that others might have access to a pre-made fix?

I'd rather like to know what program you used to alter the exe file, and where did yu downloaded.

But if you don't want - or can't remember the name - please send the "level 127 NO-CD" executable to valu_vutescu@hotmail.com (eng version). Thank you in advance.
