The Chinese character of last year

The Japanese (why Japanese) 'Chinese characters Spreading Association' holds a activity called 'The Chinese character for the last year' every year. The character is voted out on web and finally the abbot monk of Qing-shui Temple will write the character on an 1500mm×1300mm Xuan-zhi(a kind of paper).

The Chinese character for 2005 is 爱 (Ai) love.Its shape is like this:

There are 4.71%(about 5000 people)approved of this character(there were too many choices),however about 1.33% choosed the character 萌(Meng or Mo'yi in Japanese) which means lovely little girl ( this holds a bit sexy) .

Of course I know what the symbol for Compassion is. But surprisingly there is no such character on net. In fact we Chinese have no interests in collecting and gathering what we have (We have too many things Wow.). So the fish symbol I found was from a Japanese website. But this time, since you are asking for something the Japanense obviously don't have, enn....

Compassion

What's most ironic is that NAs and Euros often tattoo Chinese characters onto their skin but often really don't understand the simplicity of the character. If you were to get that character as a tattoo, anyone from China would just read it as "compassion" and that would be the end of it. Nothing fascinating. Perhaps written in a beautiful font or with graceful strokes, but it really only impresses people who have no idea what it means or how to pronounce it in the first place.

And MADLAX was right-- the site that I got that character off of was a site that had japanese kanji imprinted onto the front of a baseball cap.

That's the other thing-- at school I'm sometimes asked to read a sentence that someone sees in Chinese, and if they think they are smart they refer to it as kanji--- OMFG ITS NOT KANJI, its the REAL CHINESE SHIT :thumbdown: China > Japan in all aspects but DDR and video games.

Yeah, MADLAX, my Ex-Boyfriend was cheating on me so I dumped him. I was really upset for a while but I'm okay with it now, I was better off knowing and getting out while I could.

 

If I were to choose a tattoo I would choose 'endurance' since I'm likely to be trapped in trouble.
And compassion, it is a thing I really want to get rid of. (Though I can't, damned.)
