You have to accept King Praetor's quest to get his taxes from Blackroot and then when you get to Blackroot go and tell Dante what you are doing and he should join you.

He still never joined me, even when I was doing the taxes quest. He said to come back when I had more experience, so I'm guessing there's a minimum level requirement. I always do most of the Blackroot and Dernholm quests early on in the game, so that sucks for me. I was just gonna get him in my party to see what it was like but I couldn't.

So do the quests later in the game when you're a higher level.

I think you need to be somewhere between level 12 and level 15 before he'll join you.

I think it's level 12. I was level 10 and he told me to come back when I make a name for myself, so I did the Liam quest and a couple random encounters and got to level 12, and when I did that he joined right up.

Dante is quite powerful. He is of *use* to me. Is there any way to get him to join me after i complete the King's quest?

As is the case with all followers (except Dog and possibly a few others), Dante won't join you unless you're at least one level below his.

Dante sucks horses ass. Followers are just things to block you from experiance. You can do everything yourself, followers aren't needed.

    They just suck...

BAD Wolfsbane! BAD! *beats him over the head with a newspaper*

You don't diss Dante, king of all that is kick-ass! He's damned useful, especially to my 'queen of magic but annoying low HP' elf.

No. The only things you need when being a magician is
a). Harm b). Minor Healing and c). 100% magick character

    And Virgil. *giggles*

I really ought to get around to writing that fanfiction I had planned... Virgil, Perriman, and a REALLY cranky half-elf thief. That could be fun.

Not really risque, just the occasional hint of attraction between Virgil and Skeith (the thief).

    Why Virgil and Perriman?

Virgil: Because I am unashamed to admit that I am completely crazy about him. Heeeee.

Perriman: An interesting character, and I want to fill in his backstory a little. (Did anyone ever find out what happened on that train? Seriously?)

He entered it and it was destroyed. He's a mage of some skill, and he didn't sit in the mages caboose. So what could've happened? The steam engine was destroyed because of his magickal aura.

Well, that's at least how I've understood it.

I just think Virgil's a little pathetic coward. He hasn't got the guts or the wits to understand that he needs to avenge his brother until the player brings him to Tzen-bloody-Ang.

I mean, how stupid is he?

I believe what happened (I might be wrong but I think something like this was in the newspapers) is that something happened on the train (a fight or something) and Perriman had to cast a spell, and that wrecked the train.

My going theory is that someone who didn't like Tullan mages attacked him on the train, and his retaliation was a little TOO powerful for the train to handle. (If you read all the different articles and talk to him whenever you can, you get the distinct impression that he may or may not have been involved in something worrying. That's the bit I want to expand upon.)
