I have the ideea of creating a totaly passive character, a man that is skilled in leadership and sustaining his team.Someone that could specialise in persuade, healing skills(both magical and technological), haggle and the such.Maxed out Charisma, having an army fight instead of you.Maybe also a specialist in robotics. But I encountered three problems; 1.There were situations with my other characters when if i didn't fight or focused my attention on something else(such as opening a chest), i would lose reaction points from my followers.Would just healing and casting spells that benefit the team lead to this loss in respect , or would it be upstanding and everything about your relations with the team remain the same? 2.There are situations where you have to fight alone.Right now i can think of one situation, the pits in the isle of despair. What would be the minimum necessary combat skills need in this situation, so I can focus the rest on passive skills? Are there any other situations of this type which i can't remember right now? 3.No combat experience, so it would be a pain in the ass leveling up, therefore, is there any other way to gain the xp lost through combat? Any other sugestions are welcomed!!
You don't need to fight in the Pits in the Isle of Despair. If you're a diplomacy master you will easily be able to get a book for the half-ogre at the front doors.
... I didn't know that.So maybe it's possible to never actively fight for the entire game. But what about the other two problems? I also thought of another thing. Is it possible to influence your followers vocations through the auto-level schemes? For example, could you make Virgil a determined tehnologist(since he starts at a low level as your follower, and you can determine his evolution)?
... An edit in the game, or outside it(like a mod or something)? I was talking about the auto-level schemes that are avalable both to you, and ou followers in the char sheet, above the tech/magic meter,...
1: Mastery of Persuasion allows you to convince anyone to join you regardless of alignment conflicts, etc. As for actually keeping them happy pick locks doesn't have any effect on your followers liking you or not only killing good/evil people, conversation choices and pick pockets do that, you can give them an item they like to boost their opinion of you and wear a nice suit for it's +20 reaction from others(also wear beauty boosting items, it takes a beauty of 9 to have no bonuses or detriments to reaction). I have never lost respect from a party for not fighting personally. 2: Traps, if you are going robotics you will have mechanical already so why not use it. With traps and automatons/arachnids you should be able to handle those situations pretty well if you don't want to find a non-violent way to resolve the issue. 3: Traps once again, or complete as many quests as possible. In the Ancient Maze it is also possible to lure enemies near the windows(they won't climb through them) and fire through the window with a ranged weapon(regardless of skill, but requires alot of ammunition) while not being in danger at all.
