Does anybody know where I can get the Arcanum rule system in a Pen and Paper format? My AD&D group would lurve to run an Arcanum campaign rather than the same old... same old.. AD&D games we're running as of late. Any details would be greatly appreciated.
I would think that you could just copy the rules of the game witch are not hard to copy and decipher while playing the game. Have you tried the AD&D 3rd addition?
I guess you could do that but... I'd rather have the full rule system explained before I start running a game. With my players being such "rules-lawers" I have to have EVERYTHING in black & white. Good idea though, just wish the developers do print the rules in P&P format, rather than push out a strategy guide which no-one will buy anyway.
I once tried to create a pen&paper-version of Fallout. But I went nearly crazy over that (especially over writing down weapon stats while playing the game from the beginning to the end to get every kind of gun, grenade, etc.) X
I didn't try this game, but "Deadland" seems to be a P&P rpg in a world quite similar to arcanum's world
This is a commercial game. I found several sites for more informations, but in french. http://www.deadlands.com is in english but not fantastic. Try it and follow the links
Deadlands The game is a "Weird West" setting, which basically means "The X-Files" set in the American West of the 19th Century. The focus is more on supernatural horror than the straight-up adventuring of Arcanum, but with a lot of work it could be modified into something Arcanumesque. It does have the cleverest and most innovative combat initiative system I've ever seen, though.
