Torien Kel keeps attacking me!

Hi everyone.

I got this weird problem that's been coming up whenever I play the game and I just don't know what to do.

When you're going to this abandoned temple of the Derian-Ka, there's a skeleton of a guy called Torien Kel and he's supposed to ask you to get him some dragon blood to ressurect him, after that, you're supposed to have the option of getting him to join your party (even towards the end of the game in the void, you even get a chance to get his ancesterial sword from the Bane of Kree).

So what's my problem? Every time I enter the room where Torien Kel is, his skeleton keeps attacking me! At first I thought it was because I picked the lock to his door rather than get it from the other side of the temple, but even that didn't work. I really don't understand what's going on since this never happened before.

So does anyone have any hints to solve this weird problem? I'd really appreciate any help, thanks.

Also, in case you need to know, I'm playing a technologically alligned evil gnome. I used the save game editor to get to max evil and max technology, as well as max everything for my character and his party memebers. I mention this because I think it might be relevant.

As you mentioned it - editing your stats to maximum can be the reason... i read a thread where someone mentioned similar behaviour - some people attacked his character without apparent reason - after editing beauty and charisma to maximum values.
Otoh - why you use cheats in first place - it only spoils the fun.

 

Hmm, that's strange, since I spoke to him before and I more or less had all my stats maxed out with the editor.

I think I'll temporarly lower them a few notches before having a word with Torien... I love his character and I'd really like him to join the party. Although I'm fairly certain he's going to be upset that I won't destroy the world in the end!

For me it actually enhances the fun of the game! It's a bigger story than that, really, but if you want to hear it just ask -- seeing that it might be weird to some people if I just lburt itout! : :-o

 

I lowered down the stats on my character by a large margin and did the trick just fine! Thank you all a million times over.

Anywho, it's pretty late and I got to get up early tommorrow to continue my job hunt. I love Arcanum and video games in general, but for a fresh grad out of college, a good job to start your career is the most important thing on my mind now!
