I figured I’d throw in a wacky thread idea just to see if anyone bites into the discussion:

Imagine if each town in Arcanum were to round up all its NPCS and attack another town….who would win?

(note, monsters in sewers and dungeons, etc. do not count)

Granted that Tarant has a sever numerical advantage but Caladon has some tough-arse soldiers with good equipment. Tsen-Ang and Quintarra are well up on the magical side of things and Tulla has more mages per square grid than any other town in the game. Given the resistance to magic and the toughness of the fighters….the Wheel Clan could be a dark horse candidate.

    What do you think?

Well Stillwater's population ain't that big but on the other hand they have the "fearsome" Stillwater Giant .....not to mention the vast number of Orgy Participants (none of which I was able to to fullyrecruit with my mind control powers) :(

xzbyte: would one go about arranging this with WorldEd?

I think that who would win would be based upon how far in the game you're talking. Do you mean the cities before you enter them, or after? because if you're going with after, I think that the Dernholm Knights would triumph.

Most of the people in the cities are such weenies they'd be like "AHHH SIR JON COME STOP THESE ATROCIOUS PEASANTS!" Then they'd all sip tea.

Don't forget the Bedokaan!!! Those lizards might surprise you in a fight, believe me. Waromon is quite deadly with a proper sword or bow. I suppose Kan Kerai is also tough enough.

And Tulla, of course. Those Master mages could be fun in a pit fight ;)

Hell, for that matter even the Isle of Despair could show up at the battlefield.

You should pick someone other than Constable Owens. The man would wet himself and faint upon seeing someone pull out a weapon. I think that you should use the crazy dwarf obsessed with Shiny things.

This level 1 weakling wouldn't be much help. Hell he is so out there he wouldn't even know which team was his. The only way to make him fight would be whispering into his ear that the other guy wants to destroy his steam engine.

The fellow who owns the Bessie Toon mine has a half-ogre boyguard, who might have been useful. And of course, there's that cow named Ol' Bessie, who could also be worth something in a fight ;)

It hard to perfit who would win if any city win. Tou might have than situral where no city lose or win than long term stallmate. It might also be alot like the thirtly year war in Europe between the Roman Cathor and Protents in the Holy Roman Empire.

How about Jongle Duune form Shrouded Hills?

And why don't we have Stillwater in?

    Stillwater
    -----------
    - Adkin CHambers (healed of blindness, provided "curing" him actually affects his stats in some way.

    - Either Richard Leeks or Myrth

    Wheel Clan
    -------------
    - Loghaire
    - Randver
    - One of the quest dwarves...

    Roseborugh
    --------------
    - Dr. Backstab Master
    - Captain of the Guard
    - The Thief at the Inn

You people are missing some of the other parts of what happens in Arcanum.
You here about the Dragin Knights and The Tarant riflemen.
Now if they had a cinematic of like legions of rifle men from tarant and horses and swords men from caladan and cumbria, stillwater and blackroot/ashbury mixed in.
All the heros from shrouded hills to Isle of Despair mixed in blowing upbrains here and there.

    that would be cool....
