You mean one of these? Oh, and why would you want a silver fan? Isn't the best cooling ware made out of copper?

Silver is better than copper for heat transfer the cost of silver is what keep it come being use alot. Silver is better than copper at carrying electric current. During WWII in the Manhatten Project they where unable to use copper wires to carry the electrial current as copper was than stragetic war material, so they borrow 100 million troy ounces of silver from the treasuray departmernt to make silver wires.

Um, sorry Matah, but silver does have greater electrical conductivity than any other metal...

Look you little prick, copper is way more freakin convienent! :D

What would it matter on a crusty 5200 anyway? I have a total of 70+ cfm (cubic feet per minute) devoted to my 6800GT, that's better than silver. I know a bit more about cooling than all you foo's. :)

    Go ahead, ask away. Seriously.

Most Personal Computer use aluminium as they heatsink. It would be better it they use copper or silver in they heatsink. Did you know Gold give better protection from radiation than Lead. 1 mm. of Gold is = to 6 inches of lead. In the SpaceSuilt use in space they have 1mm or 2mm of gold in the composite material use to make space suit and those spacesuit cost more than 1 million dollar to make.

I must agree with you Silvara, except that the issue here isn't electrical conductivity, but cooling capabilities. Cooper is the best I've ever heard of when it comes to the capability to cool things... Charles rambing about the Manhattan Project is cool history and all, but it doesn't really prove any point. He simply stated that it makes better wires. Well, that might be true, but when it comes to cooling capabilities then I don't think it's so. Oh, and I'm simply guessing on this, but I'm guessing that silver has cooling issues, or something, because, ounce for ounce, the prices are about .03 apart.
