1: The Hellgate spell: In the manual, it says that the demons summoned occaisionally don't go away when unsummoned. Anyone ever seen this? Just curious.
Summon Familiar: My char is level 31, and all she can get for a familiar is the bat (familiar blood-claw or whatever it's called). Is that just what level she is, or did summoning it at level 15 set what she can get in stone? If the second scenario is the case, could a savegame editor remove it, and if so, where can I get one, and would using a savegame editor in that situation be worth it?

2: Whenever I go to sleep, instead of fading out to a black game screen, it makes everything purple. Yes, purple. It's like it's trying to use purple to make everything unseeable. Any advice? It's just an annoyance, but hey, glitches can get very annoying.
Also, while on the subject of glitches, I got a weird red geode just a short time ago. It wasn't red when I picked it up. No one in Shrouded Hills would buy it. I just put it into a trash can and left back up to the Black Mountain Clan to continue looting/exploring. Anyone ever see that? I think it originally became red in Virgil's inventory. I've got all the patches, unless there's been a very recent one (as in, during the last year) that is.

3: What items do you need for the god's blessings quest, assuming you want to go for the highest blessing? I just want to make sure I don't sell something I'll need.

4: My char is a female half-orc only child, level 31, 5 points spot trap (expert, got master quest), 20 points willpower & perception, 5 points summoning, force, & fire, 2 points white necromancy & earth, 1 point B. necromancy. What should I do now with my CPs? :-? I'm thinking about going for 20 points Constitution for more Fatigue and Fatigue Regen, but even then I'll have future points with no plan of use for them (already have 10 points CN).

    1. I got Familiar at level 41. I cast it and got a level 35 Blood-Claw (small flapping guy). That's all my experience with Familiar at this point.

    2. Red items are broken items. Not sure how you broke a geode, I know if items are on the ground when a fireflash goes off near them they can get damaged or destroyed (I have seen herbs destroyed in wilderness fights this way) even if they have no listed hitpoints, but I have never seen it happen to a geode, especially in somebody's inventory.

Purple? I know changing the brightness in-game using the options menu changes the way things look quite a bit - black dots on the strategic map become purplish dots for example at the lowest gamma setting - but I haven't seen purple fade-outs.

    3. As far as god's quest items, I believe they are all listed in The Pagan Gods of Arcanum, that book the guy at Tarant University gives you. Some gems are also used for other purposes. My list of keepers is: 2 kathorn crystals, 1 bone dagger, 2 rings, 2 Mnura coins, 1 ruby, 3 heartstones, 1 li'tani, 2 lava rocks, 1 passion root, 1 geode, 1 black diamond, and 1 olive branch.

    4. Personally I like to get all 5 levels in Conveyance and Divination, so I can teleport around and also identify magic items in the field as soon as I find them. Mental is also fun as you can use Dominate to take people's stuff without killing them - you can make a city's guards all walk around in their underwear, or dress them in servant's clothes, make the mages wear tech armor etc. Depends on what you like to do for fun in the game. I like rearranging stuff more than just butchering everything.

OK, I'll try increasing the gamma (it's at the lowest right now). I'll say something if nothing changes, but for now, I won't be able to try anything until the weekend.
Well, I did throw out a few fireballs, but most of those were into mass groups of enemies (record: seven Kite Archers with one blast!), and nowhere near any geodes. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter, since my char has lots of $, and 110 (I think that's what they were going for) doesn't matter much, especially if it's a one-time deal.
Well, with the ruby, I know rough-cut rubies work (used one once, on an old game before I knew about the god's quest, and was using that altar for the CN bonus). Unfortunately, the black diamond from the maze NE of Dernholm has been sold to someone. Any ideas about where another could be found? That's the only one I knew to be there every time. Heck, the only treasure that's there every time regardless of what your char is is the stuff that's lying around on the floor or exists for quest purposes.
On that subject, does anyone have any idea of how to get that sword in the maze NE of Dernholm that's surrounded by wall? All I know is that it's magical.

Black diamonds can be had from various places. The Bangellian Deeps have a hefty supply. Also you can buy them from the dwarven smith in the Wheel Clan. It's a random item in his shop, if you keep going back he'll have one eventually.

My friend was playing the other night and somehow Virgil ended up inside that little impenetrable square in the Ancient Maze. Virgil picked up the sword there. My friend walked far away and Virgil reappeared near him (followers do that if there is an obstacle in the way - eventually they just teleport back to you) so he was able to get the sword from Virgil's inventory and see what it was. It was an Arcane Sword.

Virgil getting in there was a glitch of some kind, I don't know of any reliable method of getting in there on demand.

I think I might have just figured something out, something I'll have to go try out: could that same teleportation scripting teleport Virgil or another NPC into that square, if you're lucky/careful?

Well, first you would have to get him stuck behind something. Since he can go through anything you can, I'm not sure how you would do that in the Maze. In theory it is possible I suppose. I don't have any experience with walls of force. Entangle would piss him off.

I think it's easier to just use a fate point to pickpocket Stringy Pete if you are itchin' for an arcane sword (and helm, and shield....)
