I tried to destroy the Bangellian Scourge down in the Bangellian Deeps. I was extra careful not to attack the cursed paladin because I have a good-aligned party and didn't want my followers to complain. So I went in, stayed away from the fight, healed and let my followers do the killing. My good-aligned party killed the good-aligned cursed paladin without so much as turning a hair - and turned on me afterwards saying the hated me for killing "friends"!!! I have Jayna, Magnus, Ravena, Sogg, Dog and Chukka. I tried letting Chukka wait and doing the fight without him because he seems to be the one who becomes upset first (he only likes me 40 while the others like me 50-70). But when I made him come back after killing the paladin he attacked me anyway. What can I do to solve the quest without my party turning on me? thx, lyssa
well having 20 charisma would help, otherwise you could use fate points to force good reaction, or you could kill them your self and have your part wait, but being the levels of the cursed paladin and his slaves thats not a good idea... but if they're just complaining about you killing them, and not actually leaving you it won't matter.
Cursed Paladin himself is not good, his followers are. Perhaps you could try dynamiting the Paladin from a safe distance? Failing that, try wearing a smoking jacket until you manage to kill+resurrect them all to boost reaction. If you think it is your alignment that is the issue, leave the Paladin, go out and do some good, and then come back.
Just wait a milli second for one to attack you then start fighting. No one will complain. Its the advanced attack that bothers them.
Or you cauld get the dark helm go pure evil and get the scouge and live happly ever after as the mighty scouge dosnt hurt you if your pure evil your self...but thats just me cursed holy people. :-x
I usually play as a mega mage with Force as one completed school and Distructon will kill and eleminate every palladin when using Fatigue Slow. When I play as a fighter its like some of the other answers just wait a bit for the NPC to attack and then help them out. Your wait needs to include all NPC not one or two.
If you get whysper's gem from qintarra you can destroy the scourge without being seen or you can just keep it for yourself. (I'm a good guy so I always destroy it)
I recently tackled this quest with the goal of not losing any alignment points and not doing a single point of damage to any of the enslaved paladins. I did it by leaving my followers far away, then running in and attracting attention and getting attacked, using Nightmare spells to make the paladins run away (the Cursed Paladin is immune due to his Willpower), running out of the room, and killing the Cursed Paladin myself in the next room. Then I went back in, got the Scourge, and threw it in the furnace.
I just make my party wait, turn invisible, and run in and throw the scourge in without even going into combat. This also works if you want to keep the sword.
Get the Arcane Sword in The Bog SSE from the Deep and kill all in the Scourge room. Any follower that attacks you just kill them and robe there goodies. Don't put up with any backtalk from the sleezy dirty loser NPC their not worth the trouble.
Just wait till they attack. On turn-based mode, the attacker will be circled in red, the pasif one will be in yellow. So, attack the one in red. Eventually all of them will attack u. On the side note, is it possible to walk there and not attacked by the paladin without using invisibility or tricks? I mean just walking there, have a nice talk and destroy the scourge? My character is of good alignment. I think above 90. I have Vollinger in my party tho.
I've never been attacked by my followers in this quest. But then again, I always run towards the paladin party and THEY attack ME. And I never had a high charisma (except when I was Ambassador), so I suppose that beauty helps a lot in the end, because that way your followers won't attack you rightaway.
