Want to restore Bates' & Appleby's friendship?

In the thread "Question concerning bates." http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/post ... e&p=118409, the question of whether you can restore Bates' and Appleby's friendship arose. As the game is currently set up, this is not really possible. Bates seems to regret the loss of his friend and their current state of animosity. I just wondered how many people thought it would be a cool idea to make this a possible quest for Bates to give as an alternate way to eliminate Appleby's threats?

There's a good reason why they can not be friends in the game - because their prototypes will never be friends in real life.

But, for the game's sake - yeah, I think you should be able to make them friends again.

 

That is a brilliant idea Sinbad! I always thought that this story begged for a decent ending.

 

I think there should be a long ass series of quests where you and appleby blackmail Gates into transfering ownership of Bates' company over to Appleby.

I see that xzbyte has seen the purpose of my poll. I am still working on my own mod for Arcanum to add a lot of new features, quests, and most notably new playable races and playable females of some existing races. I thought that this might be a fun thing to add if I got enough response from people showing an interest in it. Looks like it's worth doing, so I'll definitely have to take a crack at it, but I don't see why it couldn't be done. Just don't expect it to show up for just any character because there will be definite prerequisites before that quest will become available.
