Hello, I have a big problem with Sogg: He attacks me out of the blue, just after we've been fighting together. He says something like: "I'm sorry, but good old Sogg just doesn't like you." Reloading and moving to another area helped a few times to prevent him attacking, but right now I can't find a way to stop him. I don't want to kill him because he's so useful! My alignment is good (76), he likes me 43. I use firearms, so it might be that I ocassionally hit him when he stood in the way (although I'm pretty sure I always aimed correctly....). What might be the reason for him attacking and what can I do about it? Is there any way (even editor or something like that) to make him like me better? I tried giving money to beggars, going to the pub and even going to Madame Lil with him, but nothing helped!
Maybe that's your problem? I don't know, I've never had Sogg in my party, but maybe he just doesn't like good people, like Torian Kel and that Theodor-Ashe guy...
Yes I've patched. Maybe I've occasionally hit him, but I can't prevent that as I use firearms ad he sometimes just gets in the way between me and my target. Is there any chance to lower my alignment so that it resembles Sogg's?
On the contrary, Sogg is a good guy, you need high, not low, alignment to make him like you. One sure way is getting him killed (not killing him yourself, mind you) and then resurrecting. Just strip him of his armor and weapon and make sure the enemies engage him first. Wait for them to kill him, then kill them and resurrect Sogg either with a Scroll of Resurrection or with a Restore Life potion (you can buy it from Herbalists). After that he will really fall in love with you
If the problem is shooting him, all you can do is move to a side so that he will not cover your target. I had Sogg several times and he has nothing to do with alignment, even if you have negatives.
I've tried some reloading and it seems you're right.: I must have shoot him occasionally. I now told him to stay a bit more away from me and I'm also extra careful not to do it again. Also, I'll try to get a resurrect scroll (I'm technologically orientated myself, hope it will work) and try getting him killed. Thanks a lot for your help!
Read Solaris post. You can buy a Life Restore in any herbalist's shop (or make one yourself, if you have learned/found schematic for it). It's a technological way of resurrecting stuff.
Actually, a response of 43 is pretty borderline, not really liking, so any little thing is likely to set him off. If you kill the wrong person that will be enough to make him mad at you, although he is less likely to get upset about that than those whiners like Gar and Magnus. If you kill someone in Shrouded Hills, it could make him get upset because he is from there. Since you are borderline on the liking, you should always have some wine along to placate him if he gets upset. A bottle of wine will usually make him happy again until you get your beauty and charisma up to where his response to you is around 60 and you don't need it anymore. I get Sogg with every character I play because he is a very useful follower, so I have learned how to deal with him and his quirks.
