I've just been given a magnetic inversion chapeau and I was wondering whether it'd be better or worse than my fine helm? The chapeau deflects arrows and bullets (which to be frank I don't come across too often) and has a damage resistance of 20. It also needs charges (which I think I just keep in my backpack, right? I can't find a way to charge it up or anything). The helm has a good armour class and damage resistance and -1 perception. Which would you choose if you were the beardy dwarf technologist that I am? 8)
Deends on what you study-as long as you don't do firearms or explosives, go for the helm, because then you wouldn't need perception.
What kind of technologist? If an archer or a gunslinger- go for the chapeau. By the way, it does not really deflect bullets and arrows. It only gives the damage resistance.
I think the quested Chapeau is bugged. I know the one you actually make uses charges, and I'm pretty sure it actually does it's job for arrows and bullets. (Eats up charges though)
For a Tech character the only helmet worth using is the Goggled Helmet, AC: 6 DR:9 PE: +3 Tech Wgt:70 Hps:120.
