I've caved

After very long week I couldn't resist of magic and I installed the DEMO (the usual error 1309), now I really want the game. I can understand that some people were complaining about interface, but I think even higher resolution would solve that problem, graphics? came on people it‘s RPG, is it that important?

Anyway this is not the reason I'm posting. Before I had some questions, now I have even more so if anybody care to enlighten me I will be grateful.

1.Is it any way to check how many stones your companion is caring, (without actually counting)?
2.please somebody, I know this has been asked many many times how the *@*^ combat works, how many AP cost to swing or shot and don't even start with the speed and the encumbrance because I'm confused already. Just simple example will be sufficient (or any formula for that matter, if exist any), like 10 speed with light encumbrance will cost .... (fill out the blanks)?

when i download the demo, and click on it install file, it freezes... wtf is with that?

On the second note i believe the AP cost for attacking is the same no matter what your encumbrance but that you get less AP's the more encumbered you are

Which demo? There are at least 3 floating around now.

616-Arcanum.zip, ArcanumCGW.zip, and ArcanumDemo.exe

Where/when does it freeze, and do you get any error messages?

Thanks for that, but I just remembered one more, when I was "fighting" some lantern, the weapon my guys were holding turn red what does that mean? Are they broken if yes can I fix them?

 

yes it is broken, but i dont know if you can get it fixed or not

 

Well you certainly cant fix it yourself in the demo cause i just went into a game an tried.....dunno about the full game tho
in the demo you try to fix it an it says that the item doesnt need fixing, tho it is still red and for some reason it has full hit points, and it cant be used.

Well wouldn't having Gun Smithy allow you to repair weapons?

 

Do you mean gun smithy as per schematics?
if ya do then no i think its just for schematics...
the char i used had repair skill...
however this is a quote from the manual:-
Repair (Intelligence) - Mending broken Technological devices
Apprentice - reduction of max HP's is only 5%
Expert - reduction of max HP's is only 1%
Master - there is no reduction of HP's except on a critical failure. A Repair Master can fix busted items (items reduced to 0 hit points) but always at a cost of 5% of the max HP's.

Hmm, are you sure it froze? I had to wait what seemed like 20 minutes before my version finally changed from the setup to install window and then another 20 until it actually started.

I dont loaded this and when i double click on teh file to install it freezes on the small blue screen which is the installer.

Where can i try the other types of demo?
