Stupid question.

So it's like this. I was mildly interested in modding the core arcanum game a bit, like maybe change some backgrounds and races and schematics and spells and stuff, and in my research here on this forum i have heard much referring to files and folders i do not have. Most prominently the .mes files, like effect.mes. What's up with that?

 

I think you need to Undat some files (there is a tool for that somewhere on this site)

 

alright, i looked everywhere for an undat thingy. This site's tools page was down. Anyone have any suggestion of where to get it?

I'd suggest using 1074 WorldEd to uncompress Arcanum and edit it, as it can uncompress Arcanum with one double-click.

 

One major problem with that, Chaos - 1074 WorldEd won't let you edit the main Arcanum module.
