I'm just interested to know what people think on this one. Which choice of the two is better for a good-aligned type and why? Should I assist Appleby in betraying Bates? Is it better to do the opposite? How about driving Appleby mad from repeating the name "Bates" over and over" 'til he attacks? Am just looking for soe ideas here on what the best choice is for whom and why...
Well --- I went with Bates because neither one made the engine. Bates took it from the dwarven, Appleby stole/got it from Bates. You will get to talk to Bates eventually, and it starts a whole mess of quests. Maybe Appleby is good, I didn't try him. A huge hint: one of the crypts in the cemetary will be very interesting. Just kill the guy who attacks you.
Well, during my evil replay, I killed all of the people I met including bates and applesby but I still got to go to the Wheel Clan.
I love the bates thing when you attack him "Chukka Attack!" This game is a whole lotta laughs. Or when you kill the priesttest in stillwater you say "I'm not sorry for the pain you will be experiencing right now" it's a master piece to be evil
hey I'm reinstalling the game on a new system hope there will be no "are you sure you want to quit?" Because that is not so funny
Do whatever you feel like So far I've sided with Appleby once, Bates once and neither once (just stole the information and used it myself).
All Hail Chaos! Methinks that's my next course of action. It may be easy to take candy from a baby, but it's a damned sight tougher than pulling it from a corpse.
Good characters should align with Bates. The reason I'm choosing Bates is that he gives away a lot of money. So Bates is a rich guy? Hmmm... How about Gates?
bates i always kill appleby.. even when im good alinged.. he's a nutjob. gets you a piece for the underground also later
Appleby's engines should be poxy semitransparent gaily coloured (and I mean happy gay :razz plastic things that no-one likes or uses. He deserves to die.
