Having played a few times and read much information about this wonderful game of Arcanum, I still find myself unable to recruit or even find the so-called Zen Virgel.

Everyone mentions him leaving after Tsen Ang, however I never made it that far with him. Every time I reach Caladon and enter the cemetery he walks off with hardly a word. The first time I thought it was a bug, but no such luck. I have gone back to the Sobbing Onion after about all major and several non-major events in the plot and have yet to find him, dead or otherwise.

Is there a way around this, or am I hopelessly flummoxed?

If you're up to the part where you're trying to find Victor Misk's corpse, he's just hanging around some dead guy's grave. I won't tell you who, that would be a spoiler. If you've been to T'sen Ang, you have to have done all the Joachim's note, telegrapgh, Bleeding ROse Inn stuff. If you haven't already, you're srewed. If you're only up to the Misk part, do it now.

Yes, just to clarify. When he leaves in the cemetary, he doesn't go too far. Just walk over to him and talk to him. He'll come back.

Damn, I'm already almost to the Vendigoth Wastes, so my guess is he is not coming back even though I did do all the stuff with the notes, telegraph, ect. *hits head on table for missing the obvious*

Tough luck. Sorry. But this just means you'll have to play through again and see all sorts of other neat stuff in the game that you missed the first time around!

Yeah, I haven't finished the game once, but have played many characters, and I'm ALWAYS finding stuff I missed. I will finish the game someday though...
