Just need some help with Arcanum.

Alright, just a few issues here. First of all, my Arcanum "GOTY"- whatever that is - is running off of the install disk.
I've had arcanum before and I know it doesn't play off of the install disk. It PLAYS off of the PLAY DISK! Maybe it's just a GOTY thing but I don't think so. Second it won't display the console that shows the spells, tech disciplines, inventory, map, character editor, etc. I've already had to battle little black triangles, now will somebody help me?! Please?! Also why the hell does my World Editor keep crashing whenever I try to create a house? Help!?

 

What version of Windows are you running?

 

I am currently running windows xp.

 

1. I've never used that version but as long as it runs I'd consider it a success.

2. Are you in full-screen mode? Try normal mode.

3. No clue, but in general I've found it's easier to get tech support questions answered by the friendly folks over at the official Sierra boards: http://community.vugames.com/products/arcanum/

GOTY, by the way, means "Game of the Year." Arcanum has some reason to give itself the GOTY label, because the new edition is so cheap (I got it for $20 US including the Prima strategy guide).

 

i have had the problem where everything is gone like trhat before also. it is mainly a problem with arcanum fullscreen, but if you press 'k' on your keyboard during the game, it will go back to normal, but it will go away every time yo ugo into your inventory, map, logbook, etc. so you have to press 'k' on your keyboard every freakin time you do that stuff, so it gets pretty annoying, so i dont use fullscreen.

now, if i just had a better monitor...
