Having a bit of trouble beating Ore Golems and Fire Elementals, i read on these forums to use Arcane weapons, but i bought this game a long time ago, hoping for multiplayer, but as im sure most of you know, this game isn't meant for it, so it sat in a closet, and i lost my manual, what is, and where would i find an arcane weapon? More important than that, Even if i did get a hold on some of those weapons, the Ore Golems and Fire Elementals maul through me before i think i could even come close to beating them... any plans?
And does anyone know why my Dwarf never gets full health from resting? He usually ends up at 50%, and Virgil(the first follower) won't heal him, sometimes he gets to 100% though.. any thoughts?
Somehow I get the feeling you've never tried it. Pyro axes work wonders as well. Usually I shoot it from afar, hopefully killing it in one turn. If not, it still has a ways to walk before it gets to me, and I might get another round in before it reaches my party. Dog helps a lot too. If you're close and weak, stunning it in some fashion is recommended though not essential. Your dwarf is probably too tech, and magick will have very little effect on him. Give Virgil bandages, and he'll heal him once more. Do a Google search for a replacement manual. Terra Arcanum used to have a copy but I think that particular section is down for site redesign.
Strangely enough, it does work. On the other hand, Fire Elementals are highly resistant to electricity. Ways to deal with Fire Elementals: Molotov cocktail them to death Stun them with either Stun spell or Stun grenades each turn so they wouldn't be able to hit you back. Use high damage weapons like the Pyro Axe Entangle+ranged weapon from a safe distance. Drink a Potion of Speed and a Potion of Skin Thickness before fight (first for increased speed, second for higher damage resistance).
Donovin, you asked about healing your dwarf. First, if you're not resting in a bed, you're not getting good rest. Second, if you're resting elsewhere, it might be a good idea not to be running. Third, if you're wearing an amulet with serious magic resistance it's hard for virgil to heal you. Virgil will still heal you if you give him bandages. Also, you can explicitly ask him to do a particular healing spell. If you are very techy, you might have to ask him to cast major heal six times before it actually does anything, but eventually you'll get your hp back. (Be careful that Virgil doesn't pass out from fatigue while you're trying.)
Where do i get a Fire Axe? And i'm not the dwarf, i'm a halfling thief, i got the dwarf in the 2nd town.. starts with a T Is there a way to control how the followers spend their points? Some, namely the Dwarf are picking awkward paths and as a result, he sucks.
First of all the city is called TARANT and second the pyro axe is a techie weapon that u need smithy and explosives to make, you'll find the schematic in mr willourghsby's (or however u spell it!) (his house is near the graveyard) basement also accsessable from the normal sewers (not the large ones accsessable from the house at the end of the strip of land near the eastern bit of town where the wise woman is) but be warned his basement is guarded by about 3 mech arachnids so be prepared for a hulluva fight. its in the chest next to the ladder.
If you are resting up and Magnus is still weak, you can choose to continue resting for x hours. Keep doing it to heal him.
