How the hell do you follow the directions on the stone from the Ring of Brodgar in Roseborough? I figured out everything besides that. It's really pissing me off.
Did you try following the directions on the stone in reverse order? While I'm here, I have to ask: Where did you get the idea that stone is involved in the Iron Clan quest?
Yes, I did, because it's "opposite truth" according to Saint Mannox....I don't remember why I thought that, but it was confirmed when I looked in the guide, which didn't really say how to follow the directions. What I mean is, you can't really find coordinates like that, due to the fact that several coordinates correspond to Roseborough (only single digits difference, but still), and I don't see how you can move nw 30, se 40, or whatever it says, on the World Map or the Town Map.
That puzzle is a bitch. You just end up walking around in circles with your followers like a demented parade. Oh wait, you're using them as coordinates? They're not. They're steps taken on the local map of Roseborough. And it hasn't anything to do with the Iron Clan quest, in case you were still wondering.
Has it not? Isn't the Glass device from Panarii Temple supposed to open the Iron Clan door? And you can't really get it without solving Mannox's mystery.
Someone else is stuck in that puzle too? I dont know where to find that damn book...(durins truth was it?) Could some body tell me where it is?
Ohhhh if you look at it like that, quite right. But Mannox and the Panarii fakes don't have anything directly to do with the Iron Clan, which is why I never associate them.... When you go searching for the Truth About the Panarii there's no reason for you to have any thought at all about silly dead dwarves, and the quest rewards are entirely tangential. That's how I always look at it anyway, but then I hate dwarves.
I just completed both the St. Mannox quest and the Iron Clan quest yesterday. The guidestone thing is kind of cool. But unless you are a dwarf, melee fighter or have Magnus in your party (none of which I had) it seems like the Iron Clan quest is pretty useless.
The book is in Victor Misk's house in Caladon, on display but not for sale up until you visit the Place of Lost Voices.
You can also steal it by either picking the lock (difficult) or picking the key from Wesley Carrington's pocket (easier.) I stole the book with the first character I beat the game with before I even knew what it was for.
Lillian Misk has the key to the case, perhaps Carrington does to, never really bothered to pickpocket him before.
