I've got a problem getting authorization to go down into the Dredge in the wheel clan. The option to ask for it never comes up on the dialog screen. I've been told by the guard that i need the king's permission many times, but I can't ask the king for permission, and he's not just offering. I've gone through all of the dialog that I can get and it just isn't coming up. I'm level 23 with charisma, beauty, and intelligence all around 11-12, and i'm a hero of the wheel clan for killing those spiders to boot. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong? ~alex
hello, It's a bug since alot of people had this happening mostly after the patch, to continue if you have 3 persuasion try to talk him into showing you the secret passage you may enter the dredge from there.
Remember that you are talking to a dwarve. I believe you need to upset him for that permission. Just the same way you got Two Stones to join you.
Had the same problem, I made sure no one was looking and slit his throat, then waltzed down the stairs. they still consider me an angel in the game...
How do I upset him, and how did you get Two Stones? I believe Ive tried all the dialog permutations but I still can't get him, oh well, I guess Ill restart and pump my persuasion skill..
You ain't suppose to be soft on him. Compare him to a gnome, and that should encourage Two-Stones to join you. Note that he is not a permanent member.
I dunno, I have three levels of persuasion, am an expert, and have 15 intelligence but he's still not offering, and i'm not getting any new dialogue trees. I'm running out of non main quest things to do, and am kind of annoyed that the patch apparently made it impossible to go on with the main storyline. I hope this new patch coming out soon fixes this, because i'm level 35 right now and i really don't want to have to start over. ~alex
Bad news, Once you've driven him to the two final dialogue items, he'll never give you more. You will HAVE to kill the Guard at the top of the down-right stairs. Leave your followers behind or you'll get a negative reaction from them. Knocking him out would actually suffice I suppose, you don't have to leave the same way you went in... ~Aldin
Yeah, hit the same problem, damn bugs! Good news however, I killed the dwarf gaurding the enterance to the Dredge, and didn't suffer a loss to alignment, my followers didn't make a one little peep about it, and no one noticed. It sucks that the poor little dwarf had to die, but the morale of this game has been sacrifice the few to save the many!
